Can’t wait

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Recently, the seasons have gone backwards,

and this year, 2024, the cherry blossoms will bloom later than originally predicted.

So, I couldn’t wait and went to see the early blooming cherry blossoms.

They are early bloomers (Kawazuzakura? Wild cherry?), so they were already starting to fall, but

I was able to enjoy the beautiful flowers against the blue sky.

By the way, the lighthouse is a national important cultural property.

The representative variety of Japanese cherry blossoms, “Somei Yoshino,” is scheduled to bloom this weekend.

We do want our guests to enjoy the cherry blossoms as well.

待ちきれなくて、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

最近になって、季節が逆戻りしたせいか、、、

当初の予測に対して、桜の開花が遅れている今年 2024年です。

というわけで、待ちきれなくなって、早咲きの桜を見に行ってきました。

早咲き（河津桜？山桜？）なので、もう散り始めていましたが、

青空をバックにきれいな花を楽しむことが出来ました。

ちなみに灯台は国の重要文化財です。

日本の桜の代表的な品種「そめいよしの」は今週末開花予定とのことです。

ゲストさんたちにもさくらの花を楽しんでもらいたいですね。

好きなもの、嫌いなもの / What we like and what we don’t like

What we like and what we don’t like in common

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Strangely enough, my taste seems to match those of recent guests.

It is about the taste of “Traveling”.

So, where do our preferences match to each other?

At first, what we both agree with was something which is artificial. A typical example is an amusement park.

On the contrary, what we like in common is something natural. We both like to admire things that are untouched by humans.

For example, in casual evening sky, the moment when the moon is coexisting with the burning sky captivates our souls.

However, there is an exception in artificial things. We like those with history of human. So do our guests.

好きなもの、嫌いなもの

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

最近利用いただいているゲストさん、不思議と好みが合う方が多いようで、、、

話題はもちろん「旅」について。

どういうところで意見が合ったかですが、、、

嫌いなことで意見が合う方からいうと、、それは人工的なもの。たとえばアミューズメントパークがその代表。

反対に好きなものとしては、自然なもの。人の手が加わっていないものを愛でるのが好き。

たとえば、何気ない夕刻の空。空が焼けるタイミングに月が同居している瞬間に心を奪われます。

ただ人工的なものにも例外があって、その背景に人の営みの歴史があるものは宿主はもちろん、ゲストさんも好きだったりするようです。

歌い手交代 / Singer change

Singer change

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

During August, as dawn breaks every morning, large cicadas started crying loudly like alarm clock for our guests. But we cannot hear them any more.

In place of them, small cicadas which are called as walker cicada started to make mild sound around this guesthouse TOUKA.

We had strong sunlight on Monday and we felt very hot in sunshine in daytime, but season is shifting to Autumn a little bit.

歌い手交代

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

８月中は毎朝明るくなると、まるでゲストさん専用の目覚まし時計のようにけたたましく鳴いていたアブラゼミやクマゼミの声が聞こえなくなり、

代わって、秋を告げる蝉、ツクツクボウシがいい感じに鳴くようになってきた当宿「灯火」周辺です。

月曜はまだまだ日差しが強くて昼間はジリジリ暑い感じでしたが、やっぱり季節は秋にシフトしているんですね。
