Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I was surprised when I turned on the TV.

Once, when the damage from the earthquake and tsunami had subsided, the town I cycled through to see for myself how much recovery had been achieved in the area I had supported as a volunteer was now engulfed in flames now.

As with the previous fires in California, Lahaina in Hawaii and earthquake at Suzu in Noto, it is heartbreaking when a town I know is struck by a disaster.

テレビをつけて驚きました。

かつて震災津波被害が落ち着いた頃、ボランティアで支援した地域がどれだけ復興したか、この目で確かめようと自転車で巡った町が今炎に包まれています。

I walked out to visit my mother, who has been hospitalized since the end of last year.

I didn’t notice it because I usually only use my car, but it seems like there are a lot of properties for sale in this neighborhood.

昨年末より入院している母を見舞いに、徒歩で出掛けてみました。

普段は車ばかり使うので気がつきませんでしたが、この近所にはかなり売りに出ている物件が増えているようです。

On Thursday night, shops in the city were busy preparing.

Yes, in preparation for Black Friday.

And on Friday night, the Christmas market opened finally in this city.

The event was also featured on the local TV station news.

I don’t know about the situation in Europe, but in America, people would only get excited about Christmas after Thanksgiving.

Since it’s held in my town anyway, I guess it’s being held all over Japan now.

Even if we don’t go to church every Sunday, even if we’re not Christian…

This country, Japan, is interesting because it is non-religious!

木曜の夜、市内のお店では準備に大わらわ。

そう、ブラックフライデーの準備に。

そして金曜の夜には、クリスマスマーケットがオープン！ついにおいらの街でも、、、

その様子がローカルテレビ局のニュースでも取り上げられていました。

ヨーロッパは知りませんが、アメリカだったらクリスマスに浮かれるのは感謝祭が終わってからでしょう。

とにかくおいらの街でやるぐらいだから、今や日本各地で開催されているんでしょうね。

毎週日曜日に教会行かなくても、クリスチャンじゃなくても、、、

無信教だからおもしろい、この国日本！

礼拝なしで楽しめるクリスマスイベント体験しにいらっしゃいませんか？
