Natural Red, heel your exhausted mind!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Yesterday, I wrote about one spot for autumn red leaves in this area. It locates on the other side of the strait and it was popular spot for many people. There were many people enjoyed autumn leaves even on Friday, I visited.
However, there is a much better spot on this side of the strait.
It is a valley surrounding Goddess of Mercy.
That day, I could meet with the owner’s wife occasionally. According to her, it is hard to keep the valley maintained. Because of so many fallen leaves this time of the year. Owner’s ancestors have kept planting trees there for years and made this valley beautiful in autumn. They have no plan to advertise the valley to get visitors and it is the spot known to those in the know.
(It was a good chance for me to talk with her. So I requested her to approve us to use pictures and information about the valley. I am posting this with her permission, not like others who use for guidebooks without notice.)

Now, it is a little early for perfect red leaves. But it is pretty with mixing colors of red, orange, yellow and green. She taught me that next one week should be the best timing to enjoy red leaves, but until next rain.

疲れた心を癒やす赤！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
「灯火」近辺の紅葉の名所として、前記事では海峡の向こう側にある城下町を紹介しましたが、、、そこはすでに結構有名な名所です。自分が行った当日も平日でしたが、見物に来ている人は少なくありませんでした。
でも実は、素敵な名所はわざわざ海峡を渡らずともこちら側にもあるんです。
その日、偶然そちらの奥様とご友人達とお話できたのですが、やはり大変だそうです、、、落ち葉の手入れ。何代にもわたって木を植えてきて、この状態になっているとのこと。おかげさまで今では一面が紅葉する谷はとてもキレイです。特に宣伝することもないらしく、知る人ぞ知る名所*になっていることはご存知だそうです。
（*「昨年、地元港町の広報誌に掲載されていましたよ」と話題にすると「そんなことは全然知らない。皆勝手に撮っていく」と話されていました。良い機会だったので、宿としてこれからも画像・情報を使わせていただきます、とお断りした上で記事にします。）

今、赤・橙・黄・緑が混じってとてもキレイです。こちらも見頃は一週間くらいでしょうか。次に雨が降るまででしょう、と教えていただきました。
