Restaurant gone and Restaurant came!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Not as fast as Tokyo, but shops/restaurants are changing more frequently here in this town.

Many familiar shops to my old friends and people who have same home town disappeared and new one opens suddenly. And we are always surprised by that.

One of the biggest surprise for me was that a IZAKAYA (Japanese style restaurant & bar) in the building of the station next to Komorie station, was gone. It was a franchised one of large IZAKAYA group whose headquarter located in Tokyo.

Since it has gone, the scene and the atmosphere was quite changed, when we get out from the station.

On the contrary, another big surprise for me was opening of new steak restaurant. It opened on the place where world largest hamburger franchise restaurant was located, since the time I was a high school student.

Again, it is Tokyo originated franchised restaurant.
(Its sister brand restaurant also opened at a big shopping mall in the suburb of this town. Kitakyushu and its neighbor area may be their targeted area.)

They may opened as many shops as possible in Tokyo, and people in Tokyo may be getting tired to taste their brand. So they might shift their target to local cities. It has been unavoidable movement that local cities being like mini Tokyo since the time when a lot of little GINZA street/town constructed in local cities/towns. But I feel a little shame that local cities keep chasing after Tokyo with certain time differences.

However, Tokyo originated brands are never interested in opening shops in Mojiko and Komorie area. So fortunately, there are still some unique shops and restaurant here. Aren’t you interested in such shops/restaurants?

いく店、くる店！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

東京ほどではありませんが、わが町でもお店の入れ替わりが激しくなってきました。

同級生、同郷の皆さんも使ったことのあるであろう「あのお店」がなくなっていたり、こんなところに「こんなお店」が？と驚くことが少なくありません。

最近逝ってしまったお店の中でも驚いたのが、小森江駅の隣駅の駅ビルにあった「あのお店」が跡形もなく綺麗サッパリなくなってしまっていたこと。敢えて名前は出しませんが、そこにあったのは東京の住まいがある最寄り駅近くに本社のある国内屈指の大手居酒屋チェーン店でした。

駅を降りた時の景色・雰囲気がずいぶん変わってしまいました。

これに対して、この町にやって来たお店の中で驚いたのが、街一番の人通りを誇る交差点に出店したお店。学生時代からあった「世界の言葉」を自称するファストフード店が閉店した後、なにが出来るのか興味津々だった場所に出来たファストフード・ステーキのお店です。

またまた東京資本のフランチャイズの出店！
（実は姉妹ブランドのお店が、同町郊外のショッピングモールにもオープンしています。グループあげてて北九州とその近隣エリアに進出する計画でしょうか？）

関東エリアで出店し尽くし、東京の口が飽きてきたタイミングで、その波が地方に押し寄せる。昔地方でもナントカ銀座が乱立した時代より、地方都市がミニ東京化するのは避けられない流れですが、常に東京から一歩・二歩遅れるのは寂しいばかりです。

対して、コンビニ・チェーン以外は東京資本が見向きもしない門司港・小森江地区、、、
そこでは意外と素敵なお店が頑張っていたりします。

P.S. さて、居酒屋チェーンの後に出来るのはいったい何でしょう？
