Here is the jewel box of surprises!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Yesterday, when I went to the usual supermarket, I heard big plosive sound.

Fireworks are launched at the wharf in front of me.

It was about 5 min short event, but I felt like I got it.

In this town, such surprise events are happened sometimes and we like it.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

昨日はいつものスーパーに少し遅い時間にいくと、突然 大きな破裂音が、、、

目の前の堤防から花火が上がりました。

わずか５分ほどの出来事でしたが、なんか得した気分になりました。

こんなサプライズが起こるわが町、やっぱり好きですね。

New summer tradition since COVID-19 pandemic

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

After sun set behind Hikoshima island, the other side of the strait, night darkness comes down on this strait town.

In a short while, we hear the distant sound of exploding.

We look out of the window, and find fireworks somewhere far away.

Depends on the day, location is different. But we see fireworks around the strait more often than before pandemic.

Big and famous fireworks festival at this strait, everyone looking forward, will be canceled for the second consecutive year.

However, if you are lucky, you may be able to see such firework here.

I personally may prefer to see small size event of fireworks.

コロナ以降、夏の風物詩

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

海峡の対岸、彦島の向こう側に陽が沈み、海峡に夜の帳が降りてきてしばらくすると、

どこからともなく聞こえてくる弾ける音。

窓の外をみると、遠くで花火が上がっています。

日によって、上がる場所は異なりますが、こうしたことがコロナ前より頻繁に見られるようになりました。

皆が楽しみにしている大掛かりな花火大会は２年連続で中止になりましたが、

ここ関門では運が良ければ、こんあプチ打ち上げ花火を見ることができます。

自分はなんかこうした花火の方が好きかもしれません。

Happy old new year?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

A guest came here to see the traditional event on the new year day of old luna calendar. So I went there to take some pictures.

The event has long long history which is more than 1,800 years.

We celebrate both new year days of new and old calendar with fireworks. Special religious service starts after sacred dance and fireworks on old calendar’s new year day.

We want guests from the countries which celebrate new year of luna calendar come to see this traditional and divine event as used to be (before COVID-19).

ゲストさんがこの地で開催される旧暦の正月のイベントを見にいらっしゃったので、自分も撮影だけしに行ってきました。

我が町では正月も旧正月も日付代わりを花火でお祝いします。旧正月はその後神事がスタートです。

以前のように旧正月をお祝いする国からのゲストに見に来てもらいたいです。
