Remaining days
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The host goes to Tokyo by car several times a year, but this trip to Tokyo was a little different than usual.
During the trip to Tokyo, I flew back to Kitakyushu to pick up my elderly mother, and we traveled together for a week.
The purpose of the trip was to have my mother meet her new born great-grandchild (my granddaughter), to attend her grandson’s (my nephew’s) wedding together, and to drive around the Fuji Five Lakes.
The main reason I came up with this idea for this trip was because I once heard on a TV program the idea that “there’s only a short amount of time left to talk to your parents.”
Another reason is the reflection I felt after my father passed away last year.
It was a difficult week, but I was able to spend a lot of time with my old mother, making it an unforgettable trip.
Although I am involved in the work of supporting travelers, I felt that I would like to suggest this type of trip to guests of my age.

残された日々
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
年に数回、車で東京に行っている宿主ですが、今回の東京行きはいつもとはすこし異なりました。
東京行きの間に、北九州まで年老いた母を迎えに来て、一週間二人で旅したからです。
この旅の目的は、母にひ孫を会わせること、甥っこの結婚式に一緒に参列すること、そして富士五湖を周遊すること。
こんな旅を思いついたのは、以前、あるテレビ番組で「親と対話できるのは時間にしてあとわずか」という考え方を聞いたことが大きな理由です。
昨年、父が他界した際の反省がもうひとつの理由です。
なにかと大変な一週間でしたが、親との濃密な時間を過ごせたということで、忘れられない旅になりました。
旅人をサポートする仕事に従事する身ですが、こんな旅も同年代のゲストさんには提案していきたいと感じました。
それでは、親と過ごす残された時間を充実させる素敵な一日を！
