Japanese Title (邦題)： 「違いは忖度？」末尾に
The difference is whether there is surmise or not?
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
On Monday, temperature went up to almost 30 degree C in Kanmon area and we all felt the start of summer 2020.
In such summer day, the cancellation of “Kanmon Strait Fireworks Festival” was announced. It is the biggest summer tradition of this place.
To be more specific, the committee who announced yesterday was Shimonoseki side and Kitakyushu side announced already at the end of April. This news was highly focused in both side of the strait and NHK’s stations of both sides broadcast this news with almost same article. (Anchors were different but words were 99% same and that made us impressed by high level interchanging of two sides. The reason why Shimonoseki announced 3 weeks later may be that there is a surmise for a VIP couple*. )
It is natural to decide to cancel the event, because too many people gather in this small town and that create high risk situation against COVID-19.

Anyway, it is very disappointing news for us, residents in both side of strait and tourists that we cannot see big blooming fireworks on this sky on the water. In addition, we feel more disappointing because we cannot try to hold “Fireworks Watching Party” here. Of course, without attendance of deputy prime minister nor antisocial forces*.
(*Mr.Prime minister of Japan have held “Fireworks Watching Party” on festival day at Shimonoseki with inviting antisocial forces. And that disgraceful behavior had been discussed in the Diet)

違いは忖度？
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
週明けの月曜日、関門エリアは３０度にせまる気温で夏の到来を感じました。
そんな中、この地の夏の風物詩「関門海峡花火大会」について、この夏の開催の中止が発表されました。
実のところ、今回発表したのは下関側で、北九州では早々４月末には中止が発表されていました。このニュースは海峡を挟む両岸にとって大きなニュースで、山口・北九州の両NHKが重要ニュースとしてとりあげていました。
（キャスターこそ違えど、ニュースの内容はほぼ同じで、両岸の交流はここまで進んでいるのかと感慨深いのですが、下関での中止決定が３週間も遅れたのには、もしかしたら忖度があったのかも、と感じざるにはいられません。）
例年、花火大会の開催日には、このちいさな町中が「三密」状態になるので仕方のない決定でしょう。
とにかく、両岸の住民・観光客にとって、この夜空に大輪が開くのを見ることが出来ないのはとても残念です。「花火を見る会」をこちら側でも開催したいと考えていただけになおさらです。（もちろん副総理や反社会的勢力の参加はなしで、、、）
