One small happening in one small town
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
There has been one movement in which I have interested since this summer. Yesterday I went to see the event finally.
Among about 8 thousand spectators, I walk into the Kitakyushu stadium as an instant fan (like Rugby World Cup’s instant Japanese funs).
During the game, the local soccer team “Giravanz” controlled the game most of the time and scored four goals. That made the enthusiastic Giravanz fans very excited. Even myself who have no interest about soccer football can also enjoy watching game.
Since this compact but beautiful stadium was completed, Giravanz has gone through a lot of hardships and they fell down to rock bottom and suffered for three years. However Giravanz underwent a remarkable metamorphosis from the weakest team of whole leagues to the top team of J3 league. We do hope that the soccer team’s drastic change will affect local government who kept loosing people and loosing tourists.
As of now, we are expecting to see the derby match between “Winner Fukuoka” and “Looser Kitakyushu” in J2 league to where Giravanz will promote.
Making continuous small changes will lead to the one big change in future, we believe.

ちいさな街の、ちいさな出来事
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
かねてより気になっていたイベントに、満を持して行ってきました。
動員数8,000人近くを記録した大勢の観客に紛れ、ラグビー・ワールドカップではないですが、“にわかファン”を装い北九州スタジアムへ。
地元チーム・ギラヴァンツが終始中盤でのボールを支配し、その結果４本ものゴールを決める猛攻で、熱い熱い応援合戦を繰り広げていたサポーターも大いに盛り上っていました。普段サッカーにまったく興味のない自分でも十分に楽しめた試合内容でした。
このコンパクトながらとても綺麗なスタジアムのお披露目以来、辛酸をなめ続け、一時はどん底まで落ちたサッカーチーム「ギラヴァンツ」。大変貌を遂げたその姿に刺激され、「人口流出」「観光客流出」が止まらないこの自治体もまた、見違えるように変わることを期待してやみません。
昇格した新しい舞台で「負け組 北九州」と「勝ち組 福岡」とが対戦する福岡ダービー、今からちょっと楽しみになってきました。
色々な小さな変化が繰り返されることで、いつか大きな変化を呼び寄せることを祈ります。
