Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
This time of a year, foreign students, who take entrance examination for the university in this city, use this guesthouse.
There were two test site in this city, but test day is same for all faculties.
The subjects of the examination are mostly writing essay and interview. (Other subjects are qualified before the date, they taught us.)
Writing essay and interview remind me my memories of supporting my daughter who was preparing examination.
To enter high school and university in Tokyo, plus selection to be exchange student of American high school and English university, we had 4 big projects (4 essays and 2 interviews) and passed them. As a single father, I believe that my supports were real support for my daughter.
I thought that I disposed such experience with my daughter, but I recognized that I could cheer our guests who were leaving for the exam both practically and sympathetically. I think it is because of my experiences.
I thank our guests who remind me old precious memories with my daughter.
At the same time, I really thanks to my daughter who gave me experiences which are quite useful even now.
Thank you and you have more wonderful day after getting various experiences.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
このところ毎年、この時期に当宿を利用いただいているのが、市内大学を志望する外国人受験生。
試験会場は２箇所ながら、全学部同日開催で、実施科目は主に小論文と面接だということです。（他の教科は別途学力を選考済）
小論文や面接といえば、娘の受験にガチンコで付き合ったことが思い出されます。
都内の高校と大学への推薦入試に、高校在学中のアメリカ留学・大学在学中のイギリス留学を併せると、都合四回の小論文（英文含む）と二回の面接対策、ずいぶん綿密に指導したことを思い出しました。これらは一般教科とは異なること、それもシングルファーザーだったため、冗談抜きのガチンコ指導でした。
そうした経験は、その場限りで使い捨てたつもりでしたが、今回 試験会場へ向かうゲスト達に声を掛ける際には、かなり親身に、そして実践的に励ますことが出来ている自分自身に気付かされました。リアルな経験があったからこそでしょう。
ずいぶん昔の娘との貴重な記憶を呼び起こしてくれたゲスト達と、思いがけず今なお役立つ、そんなリアルな経験をさせてくれた娘とに、心から感謝です。
