Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
In my recent traveling, I have been in to one thing.
It is ”MICHI NO EKI (roadside station)”.
“MICHI NO EKI” is one of relatively new Japanese cultures. I try to visit “MICHI NO EKI” in each area. But I don’t make schedule to visit certain “MICHI NO EKI” in advance. I just choose one from some in the area whenever I feel that I want to visit. It is random selection and very fun all the time.
It is very interesting that randomly selected one is often better than one with good reputation in guidebooks.
My criteria of good and bad is “comfortable or not”.
As I am not interested in souvenirs and agricultural products in “MICHI NO EKI”, I care over all atmosphere and
the Restroom.
During the trip this time, I found a “comfortable MICHI NO EKI”.
Among its facilities, restroom was very good. It was very clean and designed user‐friendly.
And they adopted our honorable Kitakyushu Brand “TOTO”.
TOUKA also adopted “TOTO” and we know how good it is. This comfort is common in both “MICHI NO EKI” and accommodation.
There are many other “MICHI NO EKI” at the roadside in all over Japan. So I am excited to visit them and learn from them.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
最近旅していて、ハマっているものがあります。
それは「道の駅」。
「道の駅」は比較的最近出来た日本独自の文化のひとつです。雑誌や口コミ等の評判を見て訪問するのではなく、地図アプリでこの辺に「道の駅」ないかなぁ、と思って行ってみる、いわば行きあたりばったりの訪問が楽しくて仕方ありません。
面白いのは、前評判よりも行きあたりばったりで訪問するところのほうが良かったりすることです。
何をもって「良い」といっているのか、といえば、、、
それは「心地よいかどうか」。
自分の場合、あまりお土産や農産品にはあまり興味がなくて、それらについての良し悪しの優先順位は低くて、気にするのは「全体の雰囲気」と、、、
「トイレ」
今回の旅の中でも、意外なところに「心地よい 道の駅」を見つけることができました。
施設の中でも「トイレ」は抜群でした。使いやすさに清潔なところ。
そして、やっぱり「北九州ブランド」！
（ウォシュレットはもちろん、ココは便座クリーナーやタイル張りも良いですね。）
灯火でも全面的に採用していますが、やっぱりイイです。こうした心地よさは「道の駅」も「宿屋」も共通だと実感します。
日本のロードサイドにはまだまだ「未知の道の駅」がたくさんあって、将来訪問・勉強させていただくのが楽しみです。
