Brand-new and best for winter

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

This town’s first Christmas market won the heart and the mind of our guests.

When I actually went and experienced it, I could understand the reason for its charm.

The colder it is, the better the mulled wine tastes, and beyond the steam we can see a sense of healing.

There are many Santa Clauses, some large and some unique.

A special illuminated stage where a local university jazz bands were performing.

A stall selling second-hand clothes and miscellaneous goods. (This tent appears to have been blown away by the storm.)

A fantastic light show that uses the city’s landmark department store building as a screen.

The illumination lights, which are repeated every year, are highly refined, and the bamboo lantern displays unique to Kitakyushu are full of seasonal feeling.

I also realized that the reason they were able to produce such a spectacular winter event was because they had powerful sponsors that are unique to this industrial city.

Until now, I thought the Port Town Lights event was the best winter event, but it looks like this event may have taken the top spot.

A cold wave has been hitting Japan over the past week, with chilly north winds blowing all over the country… Why not warm yourself up with some mulled wine or hot chocolate?

冬のイチバンに！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ゲストさんを虜にした街初めてのクリスマスマーケット！

実際に行って体験してみるとその魅力の訳がよくわかりました。

寒ければ寒いほど美味しいホットワイン、その湯気のむこうには癒しが見えます。

大きかったり、ユニークだったりする数々のサンタクロースたち。

地元大学のジャズバンドが演奏する光の特設ステージ。

古着・雑貨の露店。（このテントが暴風雨で飛ばされたようです。）

街のランドマークのデパートビルをもスクリーンにした幻想的な光のショー。

毎年繰り返してきたイルミネーションライトは完成度が高く、北九州ならではの竹灯籠の演出も季節感が溢れます。

そして、これだけの演出ができるのも、工業都市ならではの強力なスポンサーがついているからだと実感しました。

これまでは港町の光のイベントが冬のイチバン・イベントだと思っていましたが、首位交代かもしれませんね。

ここ一週間、寒波が入って北風の冷たい日本列島、、、ホットワイン・ホットチョコレートで温まりませんか？
