Three day holidays was over.
To tell the truth, last half of these holidays are terrible.
Because we got family group’s cancellation due to the typhoon Kong-Rey approach to Japan/Korea. Various transportation, flight, ferry, Shinkansen and so on, to/from Fukuoka/Yamaguchi were cancelled on Saturday and Sunday. So, they cannot come here.
Group’s cancellation was critical situation for such a small hostel like TOUKA.
Several days ago, I had a chance to talk with people in foreign country who have never been to Japan.
According to her, she try not to to visiting Japan, because “Natural Disaster” is quite scary for her. News of several disasters attacked Japan and foreign visitors in Japan in trouble were broadcasted in several countries. So she don’t want to come to Japan.
Several TV stations in Japan have kept producing program concerning foreign travelers visiting Japan, saying historical volume of travelers visiting Japan. But such statistics are created in past. It may be reported next year that number of visitor to Japan decreased, due to natural disasters.
“FUKKOU Discout (government’s special travel discount)” may be needed more than Osaka and Hokkaido.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
三連休終わってしまいましたね。
実は、、連休後半は悲惨でした。
なぜなら台風25号の影響で各種交通機関が軒並み運休・欠航となり、ファミリーでいらっしゃる予定だったのグループ予約がキャンセルされたからです。
うちのような小さなゲストハウスではグループのキャンセルは痛いです。
先日、まだ日本に来たことのない外国人の方とお話する機会がありました。
聞けば、どうも日本は敬遠しているようです。なぜなら「自然災害」が怖いから。今年に入ってからの各種災害は、その際の外国人観光客サポートへの対応の悪さと併せて、海外でも報道されており、それを見て行く気がしないそうなのです。
現在テレビ等では「過去最高の海外旅行客」と訪日外人関連番組等で盛り上がっていますが、統計は常に過去のもの。もしかしたら、来年あたり「自然災害のため日本旅行を敬遠する旅行者が減ったため、旅行客は減少に転じました」というニュースが国内でも報道されるかもしれませんね。
「ふっこう割」が必要なのは、関西・北海道だけではないかもしれません。
