One of my friend from high school stayed in TOUKA and we went together to eat our hometowns speciality from the sea.

It is one week to the Event and now is the best timing to eat” BUZEN HITOTUBU KAKI (oyster)” here

We want our guests to try this special food in special setting in the next weekend.
(There is still vacant space to stay in female dorm room in TOUKA.)

If you are busy next weekend, please don’t be disappointed.
Because, Local Oyster BBQ cabin is very HOT now.

It is not bad to eat oyster watching ocean.

Base price is 1,000JPY as BBQ set like this.
(And you add ordering your favorite materials.)

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

久しぶりに帰省した高校の後輩が当宿を利用してくれたので、一緒に故郷の名物を食べに行きました。

ちょうど名物「豊前海一粒かき」を食べる冬の一大イベントまで一週間。
まさに今が一番旨いタイミングです。

どうぞこの町のイベントで旬の牡蠣を召し上がってください。
（＊お宿は「灯火」へ。女性用ドミトリーに空きがございます。）

もしお忙しくて日程が合わず、次の週末のイベントに来れなくても大丈夫。
地元の「カキ小屋」が今とっても熱いです。（人気も、温度も！）

海を眺めながら食べる牡蠣は格別ですよ。

ひと通り牡蠣焼きが楽しめるセットで1,500円。
（そこから好みに合わせて追加オーダーしていくイメージです。）

It doesn’t mean good because of new

In these days, I am focusing on the topic and information shared by our guests.

This is about one shop I wanted to check out.
It is the shop, one of our guest recommend me.

She found it, when she walked around old market town.
She said the atmosphere of the shop was wonderful.

Everyone has such good experience during traveling.

To find the shop, all I have is the memory of photo, she took and showed me.
Finally I found the shop after walking around the town.

The coffee shop has 50 years of history.
There seemed to be some reasons to keep opening so long period.
I could feel them with my five senses.

We believe that there must be more good and old shop in this KANMON area.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここのところ、ゲストから聞く情報・話題に注目しています。

今回はそんな話題から気になっていたお店についてです。
ゲストが良かったよと勧めてくれたお店に行ってみました。

町を散策していて見つけたお店に入ったら、、、、
すごく雰囲気がよかったと言っていました。

旅先でそんな素敵な経験、誰にもあると思います。

頼りはその時チラッとみせてもらった店内で撮った写メの記憶。
古い商店街を歩きまわって、とうとう見つけました。

聞けば、50年近く営業しているそうです。
長く続くお店には、それなりの理由があるようです。
そんな雰囲気を五感で感じてきました。

惑わす町！/ This town confusing tourists!

This town confusing tourists!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Sunday, typhoon #18 (TALIM) was running through Kyushu island.

At Kitakyushu airport, there were many flight cancel and delay.
And we also have cancellation from our guest because of bad weather.
We could see blue sky a little in the afternoon,
but it was a quiet mid day of three days Autumn holidays.

As no guest in guesthouse, I went to our town to see damage by typhoon and strange view our guests told me.

It is the middle of Autumn travel season but there are a few tourists in town, like rainy weekdays.

The strange view is locating in such port town.

Two confusing sign boards were installed there, like old town of hot spring which has competing who is original sweet shop of their famous speciality.
And Tourists who understand Japanese got confused “Which is Number One” and funny in same time. Two guest of TOUKA took photo of the signs and showed me. And now I confirmed with the real sign boards.
Both their menu and such competing characteristics are not originated in this town Moji and made me feel funny.

As the sign boards are facing the boat terminal to go the island, I want to propose them to “Fight on Ganryu jima Island” to make sure which is real Number One.

惑わす町！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

台風18号が九州を駆け抜けた日曜日。

飛行機などは欠航や遅延が相次いで大混乱。
当宿でも悪天候を理由に宿泊のキャンセルが出ました。
午後には青空がのぞくも、静かな三連休の中日となりました。

ゲストもないので、台風の町への影響と、
ゲストが教えてくれた奇妙な光景を確認しに夕方出かけてみました。

秋の行楽シーズンど真ん中ですが、町には観光客の姿はまばら。
まるで雨の日の平日のようで、港もとても静かでした。

そんな港にある「惑わす光景」がこちら！

そこには元祖、本家、本舗、老舗などでオリジナルを競う温泉宿の和菓子屋に似た、紛らわしい看板が二つ並んでいました。

日本語を理解する観光客には「どちらが一番？」か紛らわしく、それがまた面白可笑しいようです。ゲストが写メした画像をチラッと見せてくれたのを、今回確認することができました。
競っているメニューも、こうした気質も、元来の門司的なものではないことも合わせて、確かに滑稽です。

この看板が向いている方にあるのは、その島からの渡船のりばでもあるので、いっそのこと「巌流島」対決でもしてみてはどうかと考えずにはいられません。
