I went to the beach for the first time in a while

and was surprised to see how much it had changed.

The project is expected to be completed this fiscal year, so it may be in the final stages.

Traveling around sightseeing spots and gourmet food is great, but we hope tourists will also experience these unique initiatives.

Kitakyushu, once a polluted city, has now redeemed itself and become a clean energy city.

久しぶりに海に行ってみたら、、、

様子が随分と変わっていたので驚きました。

本年度計画は完成するとのことで、最終仕上げ段階なのかもしれませんね。

観光スポットやグルメ中心の旅行も良いですが、観光客にはこうしたユニークな取り組みにも触れてほしいですね。

かつての公害都市北九州も、今や汚名返上してクリーン・エネルギー・シティですよ。

It is said that one of the things that surprises foreigners who visit Japan for the first time is how clean and safe it is.

In particular, safety levels seem to vary even among developed countries.

People overseas say that they can get their lost wallets back and that they can’t trust things like drink vending machines on the side of the road.

If that’s the case…

maybe this isn’t in Japan?

This picture was taken along a prefectural road near “Our City.”

Many foreigners say that if vending machines were placed on the side of the road in their country, they would surely not survive unscathed… and this is exactly what they imagined.

However, it seems that such damage is not limited to vending machines.

This is news about the same prefectural road after heavy rain last month, and it’s shocking to see the kind of terrible people who can do such unbelievable things.

The road has already been repaired, but whether the great damage that these crimes have caused to Japan’s myth of safety can be repaired will depend largely on how we respond afterwards.

にっぽん安全都市伝説の実状

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

初めて日本を訪れた外国人が驚くことに、日本の清潔さと安全さが挙げられると言われます。

特に安全さは先進国でもレベルが違うようです。

落とした財布は戻ってくるし、道路脇に設置されている飲料の自動販売機なども海外では信じられないと言われます。

では、、、

もしかしたら、ここは日本ではないのかも？

こちらは「おいらの街」の近郊にある県道沿い。

外国人の多くが言う、もし自販機が自分の国で道路脇に置かれているとしたら、タダでは済まない、、、って言っているその状態が見られます。まさに彼らが想像したとおりの姿でしょう。

なお、こうした被害は自販機だけでは済まないようです。

こちらは先月の大雨の後の同じ県道についてのニュースですが、ひどいことをする輩がいるもんだと驚かされます。

道路はすでに修復されていましたが、こうした犯罪がにっぽんの安全神話に与える大きなダメージが修復できるかどうかはその後の対応によるところが大きいですね。

リアルな一過 / After it has passed

After it has passed

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The typhoon that crossed the Japan seems to have caused various damages in various places…

Makinohara city, where I always stop at when traveling to and from Tokyo, seems to have also been hit hard, and I sincerely hope that it will recover ASAP.

The typhoon veered away from here Kanmon area and passed to the east, so I went out to enjoy the nice weather after the typhoon had passed.

However, to my surprise, a column of rain was approaching us from far out in the ocean!

As soon as I rushed into the car, the rain started to rain like a waterfall, but after about ten minutes the rain subsided and we could see the blue sky approaching from the ocean.

After that, the weather changed rapidly, and before I knew it, the sky had turned into a calm summer sky.

Looking in the direction the rain was heading, I could see the cumulonimbus clouds moving away.

I felt like I had seen with my very own eyes the true meaning of “a typhoon passing.”

リアルな一過

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

日本列島を横断した今回の台風、各地でいろいろな被害を巻き起こしているようですが、、、

東京への行き来の際にお世話になっている牧之原も大変なことになってしまったようで、一日も早い復興を心からお祈りします。

その台風はここ関門エリアからはかなり逸れて東に過ぎていったので、台風一過の良い天気を味わおうと出かけたところ、

なんと海の沖の方から雨柱がこちらに向かって近づいてくるではないですか！

車に駆け込んだ直後に雨は滝のような雨になり、十数分後には雨は小康状態になって、沖のほうからみるみる青い空が近づいてくるのが見えました。

それからの空模様はあれよあれよと変化して、いつの間にか穏やかな夏の空に変わっていきました。

雨が向かっていった方角を見ると、積乱雲が遠ざかっていくのがわかります。

本当の意味の「台風一過」をこの目で見た思いがしました。
