Don’t make light of this place!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
On Thursday, we have snow falling here in Kanmon area as forecasted.
It didn’t piled up, but when I started my car and moved the wiper to clean dry traces of snow, washer fluid was frozen on the windshield. Temperature might be below zero yesterday.
During the communication with our guests, we have sometimes taught that we have snow here about three times a year and one of three times snow piles up a little. It have often made our guests surprised.
It seemed that they imagined we don’t have snow because Kitakyushu is a part of Kyushu island, the south of Japan.
This place locates in the sea of Japan side as Hokuriku and Sanin area, before in Kyushu island.

なめたらあかん！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
木曜日、ここ関門エリアにも予報どおりに雪が振りました。
積もりこそしませんでしたが、夕方車で出かけようとしてフロントガラスの雪の跡をワイパーできれいにしようとしたら、ウインドウォッシャー液が一気に凍りました。氷点下まで気温が下がっていたようです。
ゲストさんとの会話の中で、ココでも年３度は雪が振り、そのうち一度ぐらいは積もることがあると教えると驚かれることが少なくありません。
きっと北九州だけに九州だから雪はふらないと思い込まれているのでしょう。
けれども、ココは九州である以前に、北陸や山陰と同様、れっきとした日本海側なんです。
