The importance of a sense of personal responsibility

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Unfortunately, there was quite heavy rain in Kitakyushu on Friday.

Our guest, who had no plans in mind, seemed to be delighted to be able to enjoy a delicious lunch in between the rain, thanks to our strong recommendation.

(Although they themselves are travelers from a neighboring country, it was good that they were able to avoid being jostled by foreigners.)

Here in Kitakyushu, public elementary and junior high schools have held their closing ceremonies for the first semester and are finally entering the summer vacation.

We are sure there are many beaches opening this weekend.

However, it appears that the unstable atmospheric conditions will continue.

So here’s a photo.

This is a surfing spot that not so many people know about.

A few people were in the water waiting for good waves…

We heard thunder from far away.

It wasn’t raining yet, but shortly after the thunder rumbled, everyone came out of the water and watched from the shore for the thunder to stop.

It was a beach with no lifeguards.

The lesson to be learned from this is to be aware of our surroundings and take action to protect ourselves, whether there are lifeguards or rangers present or not.

自己責任という感覚の大切さ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

残念ながら、金曜日の北九州は結構激しい雨が降りました。

ノープランだったゲストさんは、当宿からの強いオススメを参考にして、雨の合間に美味しいランチが取れたと喜んでいました。

（ご自身も隣の国からの旅人ですが、ガイジンにもまれる状況を避けられたことも良かった様です。）

さて、ここ北九州市でも公立の小中学校が一学期の終業式を向かえて、いよいよ夏休みに突入です。

この週末に海開きとなる海水浴場も少なくないのではないでしょうか？

ただ、大気の不安定な状況はまだ続くようです。

そこで一枚の写真をご紹介。

こちらは知る人ぞ知る波乗りスポット。

数人が海に入って、良い波が来るのを待っていたのですが、、、、

遠くの方から雷鳴が聞こえてきました。

すると雨はまだ降っていませんでしたが、雷鳴の瞬間からまもなく全員が海からあがって雷が止むのを岸から見守ります。

ライフガードなどのいないビーチでです。

ここから学ぶべきは、ライフガードやレンジャーがいてもいなくても周囲の状況をしっかり感知して、自ら身を守る行動を取るということ。
