The thing that caught my eye the most
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
In the Kitakyushu City Museum of Art, I visited this fall for the first time in a while,
there were an exhibit that was more eye-catching than Renoir, Monet, and Degas, except Hokusai.
That is this!
“History of Kitakyushu City Museum of Art”
Among the contents, the most interesting is
1978 Jan-Feb 1st Kitakyushu Painting Biennale was held (Since then, held every two years for a total of 5 times.)
In other words, it ran until 1988.
1990 Oct-Nov 1st Kitakyushu Biennale was held (Since then, held every two years for a total of 7 times.)
In other words, it ran until 2004.
The Setouchi Triennale, which has been a hot topic lately, started in 2010, so it means that the regular art festival of this city was held long before that and stopped.
Oh, it is the city of Kitakyushu! Even if it start something good, it always end up quitting before the topic blooms.
The Women’s Sevens Rugby World Championship, the Breakin World Championship, and the Rising Sun Short Movie Festival and so on.
I think the only thing that has continued for a long time is public gambling. I can’t help but feel sorry for that.

一番目をひいたもの
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
この秋にひさびさ訪問した北九州市立美術館。
館内には北斎はともかく、ルノアールやモネやドガよりも目を惹きつけた展示がありました。
それがこれ！
「北九州市立美術館の歩み」
その記載内容のなかでも興味深いのが、、、
1978年 1〜2月 第1回北九州絵画ビエンナーレ開催（以降、2年ごとに全5回開催）
つまり、1988 年まで開催。
そして
1990年 10～11月 第1回北九州ビエンナーレ開催（以降、2年ごとに全7回開催）
つまり、2004年まで開催。
ここのところずっと話題を呼んでいる「瀬戸内トリエンナーレ」が2010年に開始ということなので、そのずっと前から定期芸術祭を実施していたということになりますね。
う〜ん、北九州！ なんかいいこと始めても、話題が開花する前に辞めちゃう。
女子セブンスラクビーの世界選手権も、ブレイキンの世界選手権も、ライジング・サン・ショートムービー・フェスティバルも。
ずっと続いているのは、公共ギャンブルぐらいではないでしょうか？ 残念で仕方ありません。
