It seems like it’s going to be extremely hot in Tokyo today.
We feel a bit sorry for Tokyo travelers, so while looking back at last month’s exploration of the capital, We’d like to introduce some recommended spots for the GAIJIN tourists who are sweating their way through hot Tokyo this summer.
This is a spot where you can fully experience Japanese tradition with your whole body.
Yes, that’s SENTO (a Japanese style public bath)!
At a time when many public bathhouses are closing down all over the country, this one just opened this year.
It locates right in the middle of Tokyo, along Omotesando in Harajuku!
As it has become a hot topic, the bathroom was quite crowded on the day I visited, but according to the staff, there are many days when entry is restricted, so it seemed like it was still a good day.
The scale of the public bath room is small, and the number of users seems to flock to it, so I don’t think I will use it as a public bath for a while, but…
perhaps because it’s a collaboration with a major detergent manufacturer, there are plenty of free amenities such as shampoo, not like other public bathes.
The space after the bath was also stocked with relaxing items, and I felt it was a very comfortable space to spend time in.
I recommend GAIJIN tourists who are sightseeing in the extremely hot Tokyo this summer to be encouraged to bring a change of clothes with them when they go out in the morning, and to enjoy cold water bath from hot water bath here after sightseeing and sweating in the afternoon. I would like them to change their clothes, be refreshed here, and go next sightseeing to Tokyo night towns.
It might be a good idea to bring just their underwear and come dressed in the Tokyo fashion they picked up in Harajuku that day.
The building, where this SENTO is located, is the latest complex building built in the middle of Harajuku.
There are also unique shops on one floor of the building that overturns the conventional wisdom of Japan, and there is no doubt that it will become a spot that attracts even more attention in the future.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
当宿周辺、北九州・関門エリアでの猛暑の過ごし方を紹介してきましたが、、、
今日などは、東京ではまさに酷暑になりそうだとのこと。
ちょっと可哀想なので、先月の首都探索を振り返りながら、この夏クソ暑い東京をダラダラ汗を流しながら歩きまわっているガイジン観光客にもオススメのスポットを紹介しておきましょう！
にっぽんの伝統を全身で味わえるスポットです。
そう、それは銭湯！
全国で銭湯がどんどん閉業しているこのご時世、なんと今年開業したばかりの銭湯です。
それも東京のど真ん中、原宿の表参道沿いに！
話題になっているだけあって、訪問した日の浴室は結構混み合っていましたが、店員さんによると入館制限する日も多いそうで、この日はまだ良い方らしかったのです。
銭湯としての規模は小さく、そこに利用者が押しかけるようなので、多分自分はしばらくは銭湯としては利用することはないとは思いますが、、、
洗剤メーカーとコラボしていて、銭湯らしからず、シャンプー等の無料アメニティも充実していました。
また湯上がりのスペースには、くつろぎアイテムも充実していて、とても過ごしやすい空間だと感じました。
この夏、酷暑の東京を観光するガイジン観光客には、朝出かける時に着替えを持って外出し、観光して昼過ぎの大汗をかいた頃にここで熱いお湯からの冷たい水風呂を満喫して着替えて、夕方の観光に繋げてほしいですね。
着替えは下着だけ持って行って、その日原宿でゲットした東京ファッションに着替えて出てくるのも良いかもしれませんね。
こちらの銭湯が入っているビル、原宿のど真ん中に建てられた最新の複合ビルです。
ビル内のあるフロアにはこれまでの日本の常識をくつがえすショップも入っていて、これからさらに注目を浴びるスポットなること間違いありません。
