Peace of mind with multiple options
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
As everyone living in Japan knows, we had terrible weather condition on Monday morning around northern Kyushu area.
Since the previous night, thunder had never stop and heavy rain like a waterfall continued intermittently.
It was just a linear rain belt!
As the result, we found that we could hear sound of strong rain but one usual sound from town.
Yes, it was the sound of train running and railroad crossing which we hear often from far side.
According to JR Kyushu HP, all JR lines in Fukuoka had been suspended!
We were worried about the way of transportation for our guests, but they seemed not to care and went out.
When I told them that JR was suspended, they replied me that they tried to use buses.
That reminded me that the road under the hill of this guesthouse is national road #3 and one of major bus routes.
(As I try not to use buses, when I travel abroad, I assumed that they are same.)
Suspension of JR lines had continues later than 15:00, it means that local bus supported our guests to travel according to their plan.
This episode after heavy rain made us re-recognized that having multiple public transportation to travel is not bad as a guesthouse and for travelers.

素敵な選択肢
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
日本にお住まいの方なら、誰でもご存知の通り、月曜の朝の北部九州は大変なことになっていました。
前日の夜から雷が鳴り止まず、滝のような雨が断続的に降り続きました。
まさに線状降水帯！
その結果、雨の音はすれどもなにかいつもの音が聞こえないことに気がつきました。
そう、いつも遠くから聞こえる踏切と電車が走る音が全く聞こえてきません。
ネットで調べると、JRは全線で運転見合わせ中！
ゲストさんたちの足がなくなったかもと心配していると、当のゲストさんたちは何食わぬ顔でお出かけの様子。
電車が止まっていることを伝えると、「大丈夫です。バスで行きますから。」と返事が返ってきました。
そうなんです。当宿の坂の下の道は国道３号線、主要幹道でバス通り、結構本数も多いんです。
（自分自身が旅行中にあまりバスを利用しないので、ゲストさんも、と勝手に思っていました。）
JR鹿児島線の運転見合わせは、結局15時過ぎまで続いたので、災害に強いバスのおかげでゲストさんたちは月曜の観光を予定通りスタートできたわけです。
公共交通機関に選択肢が複数あるのって悪くないなぁとあらためて感じた大雨の後でした。
