We got another great one this month.

This is one of the host’s top 10 favorite films and is based on a true story.

This is also a film that I would like children living in the former coal mining areas of this prefecture to see.

Because I remember being shocked when I saw a documentary about the area in which a junior high school student said that his dream for the future was to receive welfare benefits.

It was also reported that there were cases in the area where three generations of a family were receiving welfare benefits.

We want all children to grow up with dreams in their hearts.

当宿では、今月もう一枚いいのを手に入れました。

宿主の大好きなベスト１０作品のひとつで、実話に基づく作品です。

この県内のかつての炭鉱地域の子供達に、是非見てもらいたい作品でもあります。

なぜなら、以前その地域のドキュメンタリーで将来の夢が生活保護受給だと中学生が語っていたのを聞いて衝撃を受けた記憶があるからです。

その地域では親子三代生活保護を受けているケースもあるとも報じられていました。

子供達には常に夢を胸にいだいて成長してほしいですね。

その旨言っていただければ、滞在中に見ていただくことが出来ます。是非この１０月に！

This is a series of comics we have been looking for for a while.

We have just acquired two more volumes.

This completes the set of four volumes.

The host has finally collected this magnificent story of Japan’s rebirth, which began in this port town and this strait, in the hope that people will read it, especially in these chaotic times.

More than novels or movies, Japan is known for its MANGA and GEKIGA! (Of course, we also have novels available at this guesthouse.)

We would like our guests to read these while looking down on the strait, which is one of the settings of the story.

この港町・この海峡から始まる壮大な日本再生のストーリー、今のような混沌とした時代だからこそ読んでもらいたいと宿主がようやく収集しました。

小説や映画よりも、やっぱり日本は漫画、劇画です！（もちろん小説も当宿にもございます。）

The truth revealed by combining historical facts

About three years ago, I wrote an article about the World War II museum that had just opened in our city.

The exhibits there overlapped with the content of the TV program I introduced in the previous article, and I learned a new fact.

The exhibit showed that balloon bombs were being made here in the town of Kokura.

The thing I learned now from TV the program was that what they were trying to load into the balloon bomb was a biological weapon.

The museum’s description of the balloon bomb does not include the words “biological weapon” even once.

It was horrifying to think that weapons made in this city could have flown all the way to America and killed people indiscriminately.

I heard that an acquaintance of my mother once worked at the factory and still receives a pension for that, but if those balloon bombs had actually killed a large number of Americans, she probably doesn’t want to get a pension.

After all, the truth should be shared firmly among Japanese people, not just partially…

三年ほど前、おいらの街に出来たばかりの先の大戦の資料館のことを記事にしたことがあります。

「平和のまちミュージアム」

その中の展示物と前記事で紹介した番組の内容とが重なり、新事実を知りました。

展示物とは風船爆弾をここ小倉の街で作っていたこと。

番組の中で報じられて初めて知った内容は、その風船爆弾に搭載しようとしていたものが細菌兵器だったこと。

ミュージアムの風船爆弾の説明には「細菌兵器」の言葉は一言も書かれていません。

もしかしたら、この街で作られた兵器が、アメリカまで飛んでいって、無差別に人間を殺していたかもしれないと考えるとゾッとしました。

母の知り合いがかつてこの工場で勤労奉仕していて、今なお恩給をもらっていると聞いたことがありますが、もしその風船爆弾がアメリカ人を大量殺戮していたとしたら、ちょっともらえませんよね。

やっぱり真実は、日本人の間でもしっかり共有されるべきでしょう、断片的にではなくて、、、
