Special week for safety and security!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

After posting an article about disaster prevention training conducted by firefighters on this slope, looking back on last week…

I just realized that last week was visiting week for uniformed civil servants.

The day before the fire department, two local police officers visited our guesthouse.

In a sense, it was a regular visit, but this time their main purpose was to check on the guests,

and they carefully checked each person on our guest list in the accommodation book for the past one year.

Afterwards, we received a lecture on recent crime trends and how the guesthouse should respond.

They said that police will continue to visit here regularly.

Therefore, it would be best for criminals not to consider using our guesthouse.

安全・安心のための特別週間！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

消防官による防災訓練について記事にして掲載した後に、先週を振り返ると、、、

なんと先週は制服公務員の訪問ウィークだったことに気が付きました。

消防に先駆けてのその前日、地元警察の警察官がお二人で当宿を訪問されたのです。

ある意味、定期的な訪問ではありましたが、今回は宿泊者のチェックが強化目的で、

宿帳にある宿泊名簿を一年分一人づつ全員分念入りに確認されました。

その後、最近の犯罪の傾向と、宿としての対応についてレクチャーいただきました。

今後も定期的にいらっしゃるとのことです。

ということなので、犯罪者の皆さんにおかれては、当宿を利用なさろうとはお考えにならない方が身のためですね。

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On a calm Saturday weekend, when I was exchanging emails with guests,

I could hear voices communicating via radio from outside.

I opened the door, and I saw a group of strong men in familiar uniforms gathered on the steep slope in front of this guesthouse.

At the signal, a man wearing the heaviest clothes runs up the hill carrying a thick hose.

When I said to them, “Thank you for your hard work,” the battalion commander (the person with the title on his back) replied that this was an area where firefighting efforts were known to be difficult due to the slope.

I told him that I saw they were testing whether the red wagon and pump truck could go up the hill this summer,

and he replied yes to me that the training involved actually raising the hose to the top of the hill this time.

So, when I asked if it was okay here,

and I received a reassuring answer from him that as long as they trained like this, this area would be OK.

The distance from our hotel to the fire station is only 500 meters in a straight line. However, to be honest, I was really concerned about how much of an obstacle this steep slope will be, if some troubles will happen.

This time, I was very relieved to see that this area was used as a site for training.

We want our guests to feel safe and secure during their stay.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

週末おだやかな土曜日、ゲストさんとメールでやり取りしていると、、、

外から無線で更新する声が聞こえてきます。

ドアを開けて見ると、宿の前の急坂に馴染みのあるユニフォームをまとった屈強な男たちが集まっています。

合図とともに、一番重そうな服を着た男が太いホースを抱えて坂を駆け上っていきます。

「ご苦労様です」と声をかけると、大隊長（と背に描かれた人）が、ここは以前より坂が大変だと認識している地域ですから、とのこと。

この夏、赤いワゴンとポンプ車が坂を上がれるか試していましたねと話しかけると、

今回は実際にホースを坂の上まで上げる訓練ですと返答が帰ってきました。

で、ここは大丈夫でしょうかと訊ねると、、、

こうやって訓練をしておけば大丈夫ですとの心強いお答え。

当宿から消防署までは直線距離でたったの500m。けれども何か起きた場合はこの急坂がどれほど障害になるか職業柄とても気になっていました。

今回、こうして当地を現場として訓練してもらえるのを見て、とても安心することができました。

ゲストさんにも安心して、安全に滞在してもらいたいですね。

オリ・パラ・パン！/ Olympic, Paralympic, Pandemic!

Olympic, Paralympic, Pandemic!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I realized that this week is the Tokyo Olympic week and I was surprised very much.

As our government grantees that Tokyo is safe and secure, many young people in Tokyo area have no hesitate to go out and visit mid-town Tokyo.

Speaking of sports competition, I have had many chance to watch overseas big sports event in these weeks.

Such as Wimbledon, MLB All-Star Game, The Open Championship and so on. All seats were sold out for those events. We saw bunch of galleries in TV.

We heard that no galleries will be accepted into any Olympic sites in Japan. It must be the good opportunity for our government to appeal “Japan Model” of infection risk management.

We bet people in the world, who will watch Olympic games through TV, must be surprised at the difference between their sports events and TOKYO 2020 and must wondered if brain systems in the heads of Japanese people are OK.

We do wish that “Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games as proof that humanity has defeated the pandemic” will be successful without any infected person, during the period.

オリ・パラ・パン！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

気がついたら、なんと今週末には東京でオリンピックが開会のようで、驚きました。

東京は安心安全だという政府お墨付きなので、人手も盛んで若い世代を中心に外出に対する不安もなくなっているみたいです。

スポーツといえば、最近海外のスポーツ中継を見ることが増えました。

ウィンブルドンに、メジャーリーグ・オールスター戦、全英オープン、、、どれも観客は満員御礼でした。

安心安全の東京オリンピックは無観客だそうで、日本の危機管理能力「日本モデル」を世界にアピールする良い機会に恵まれましたね。

きっとテレビ観戦する世界中のファンたちは欧米との違いに驚くとともに疑問に思うことでしょう。　日本人の思考回路大丈夫かって？
（安倍後援会や菅後援会主催で「開会式を見る会」とかありそうだけど、ないのかな？）

「人類がコロナに打ち勝った証として開催するオリンピック」、、、選手・関係者感染者ゼロでの大成功を収めてほしいものです。

（ラグビーワールドカップでも使えなかった悲運のメインスタジアム。昨年撮影したこのエントランスも今週観客でごった返すことはなさそうです。ただモザイクのシートカラーだけは先見の明でしたね。）
