Disappointing spring
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The cherry blossoms have fallen and spring in Kanmon is coming to an end.
We went out to get some coffee to entertain guests who will be coming during the upcoming wisteria season, and…
there, we witnessed a special spring scene that was unusual for this year.
It’s a spring of price hikes, and with the full response to the spring labor offensive this year, it’s a spring of wage increases…
How many people in this country, including pensioners, have seen their income increase this spring?
80% of the population?! No, no, we don’t think so.
It has only been a short time since the “food safety guarantee” was announced by the government,
but how many people think they can expect anything from a government who cannot even control the one thing it should control, which is ensuring the distribution of rice, the nation’s staple food, or controlling rice prices?
As large companies in Japan are increasingly establishing their own intelligence departments,
it is clear to see that each and every citizen, as an individual, needs to manage their own risks.
This spring marks a renewed commitment to taking advantage of the fact that many of our guests are advanced travelers (i.e. people who are not swayed by those around them and live life well)
and to strengthening our grassroots information activities through give and take.
at this place where we can observe the world from a higher vantage point, not only sit back and enjoy it.

残念な春
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
さくらも花散らしで関門の春も終盤です。
これからの藤の季節にいらっしゃるゲストさんに備えて接待用の珈琲を手に入れに出かけたところ、、、
そこでは例年にはない今年特有の春の光景が！
値上げの春、今回の春闘の満額回答により賃上げの春という話もありますが、、、
年金生活者も含めて、この春どれほど収入が増えた人がいるでしょうか？
国民の８割？！
「食の安全保証」が掲げられてまだまだまもないというのに、
国民の主食である米の流通の確保や米価の管理等、唯一管理すべき対象も管理できない政府に期待できると考える人はどれだけいるでしょう。
国内では大企業で各々独自のインテリジェンス部門を保有する動きを見せている中、
国民一人ひとり、個人としても独自のリスク管理を行う必要性を感じずにはいられません。
当宿でも、ゲストさんに旅の上級者（＝周囲に流されず、上手に生きている人）が多いという特性を活かしながら、ギブアンドテイクで草の根の情報活動を強化していこうと思いを新たにする春です。
高みの見物、いや高い視座から世の中を見渡すことのできるこの場所で、、、
