Cost performance of Japan may be the worst!?
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
We got one e-mail from one of our guests who stayed here 3 years ago. She wondered how we are doing in Japan with COVID-19 pandemic. It is our great pleasure to receive such message from a young guest in other country.
I also wonder how is she doing. So I send reply message and investigate how her country is fighting against the virus. After that, I got shocked and felt big worry about my country and its future.
It is because:
1. After second emergency declaration in Japan, we have felt easy with news that have told us that situation is getting better. However, there haven’t been any special improvement in Japan, but similar trend can be seen globally.

2. Japanese government keep telling us that we have better infection situation than western countries, however comparing with other east asian countries. infection measure and effect are not honorable ones. It may be the worst among the countries of the yellow race.
3. Mass medias (incl. NHK) in Japan doesn’t show us easy comparisons between global and Japan about COVID-19 infection. And I personally have a feeling of distrust about it,
As the result, I found that there is nothing better in measure and effect which Japanese and our government are carrying out. They may be the most inefficient in the world. To say in recent familiar words, cost performance of Japanese infection measure is very bad. Figuratively speaking to family activity, spending huge ratio of income to infection measure than any other families/countries, not paying back existing debt, but we have seen no remarkable effect yet.

Japan should have advantage as island country from an epidemiological point of view. So we should be enjoying successful infection effect as similar/close island country, Taiwan. I feel like we were ripped off. About 6,500 dead Japanese people by COVID19 cannot rest in peace with seeing the performance of Japan.

もしかしてコスパ最悪？！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
突然メールが届いたと思ったら、三年も前に利用してくれたゲストから、状況を心配しての連絡でした。海外の若者から気にかけてもらえるなんてうれしいですね。
そんなことがあって、彼女の国のことも気になり、グローバルでの感染状況を調べてみたら、自分の無知にショックを受け、同時に不安になりました。
なぜなら、、、
１．緊急事態宣言後、国内の感染状況が好転している報道に安心していましたが、それは特に日本の感染対策が良いからとかではなく、世界中で同じような感染動向なんだということがわかりました。

２．政府は欧米と比べて感染状況・被害が低いことを強調しますが、東アジアでみると日本の感染抑え込みは自慢できる状況ではありません。あえていえば、黄色人種の国では最悪の状況です。
３．NHKも含め、日本のメディアが海外と日本との感染状況を対比しにくい方法で公表していることにも不信感を感じます。

結論として、日本政府・日本人が実施していることは他国と比較して特別良い結果を生んでいるわけではないようです。もしかしたら、一番非効率な感染対策国なのかもしれません。現在人の好きな表現でいうと「コスパの悪い」感染対策です。家計に置き換えると、すでに借金漬けなのにその借金も返さずに、稼ぎから他の誰よりも一番感染対策につぎ込んでいるのに効果は人並み以下。

日本は、疫学的にも有利な同じ「島国」でご近所の「台湾」のような対策と効果を享受しているべき国なのに。なんかとても損している気分です。これでは6,500人にものぼる亡くなった人たちが浮かばれません。
