You do not know the real quality of it!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I’ve been looking for the greatness of this place throughout this year, 2017.
I recognized that 18, 19 years which I had lived since I was born are not enough to understand the real quality of my home town.
Let me introduce another major but hidden attraction of beginning of the year.
For example, “MEKARI SHINJI” is the famous event, all local people know.
(It is not beginning of a year of new calendar, but old Lunar calendar)
However, how many people have ever seen this event for real? It may be not so many, or not so many have seen it recently.
To be honest, it was my first time this year to see “MEKARI SHINJI” for real.
And I was very impressed with it.
Nowadays, the event is structured with “BUZEN-KAGURA (sacred Shinto music and dance)”. We do not get tired until the midnight/early morning main event “SHINJI”.
As I saw it this year, I am thinking that I don’t need watch it the next one. But I am pleased to accompany with our guests, if there will be any guests staying the previous night of the event and they are interested in it.

ほんとうの良さを きっと知らない！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
今年2017年 一年を通して、ここ地元の良さを探索してきました。
分かったことは、18・19歳ぐらいまで住んでいたからって、地元の良さを全然分かってなかったんだなぁ、ってこと。
年明けの見どころについて、もう少し触れると、、、
例えば、地元住民なら知らない人がいない行事「和布刈神事」。
（年明けというか旧暦なので、今年は1月末も、2018年は2月中旬ですが、）
この行事、実際に見たことある人は少ないのではないでしょうか？
もしくは、以前見たことあるにしても、最近は行ってない人多い、もしくはほとんどではないでしょうか？
正直言うと、自分も今年1月末に初めて見ました。
そして、とても感動しました。
現在イベントは豊前神楽とセットで構成されていて、深夜早朝の神事まで飽きない趣向が凝らされています。
自分は今年見たので来年は見なくても良いかなと思っていますが、神事前夜に「灯火」に滞在されて、希望されるゲストがいらっしゃればお付き合いしようかと考えています。
