The important thing Google won’t tell us!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

This is about a trouble, we’ve been having often lately.

Guests, who didn’t contact us until check-in day, sent us message on the day of the check-in and mentioned “We’re on our way by car and we’ll go to your guesthouse by ourselves, so do not worry about our coming. (After translation)”.

However, accessing our guesthouse is not so easy.

Please refer to this accident I saw yesterday… It looks like a delivery car was trying to deliver a package up the hill.

In the 8 years since we opened, we have seen similar incidents 5 times, including one caused by our guest. (That is, more than once every two years!)

If this happens, nearby residents will also become unable to pass through the road until the problem will be resolved, which can become a big problem for whole this town.

Please do not come to this guesthouse by car! Everyone who causes trouble is mistaken.

Google Map only shows us in two dimensions*. (*Yahoo Maps may be better in that respect.)

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

最近、ちょこちょこある困りごと、、、、

チェックインまで何にも連絡をくれなくて、当日になって「今、私たちは車で向かっていて、自分たちで家に行きますので大丈夫です。（翻訳後）」と連絡をくれるゲストさん。

でも、当宿へのアクセスは一筋縄ではいきません。

昨日見かけたこんなトラブル、、、坂の上にお届け物を届けようとした配達の車のようです。

開業８年で同様のエンコは、当宿のゲストさんが起こしたのも含めて５回見ました。（つまり、二年に一回以上！）

こうなってしまうと、トラブル解消までの間、近隣住民も道を通れなくなるため、その方だけの問題を越えて、この町の一大事になってしまいます。

くれぐれも、当宿には車で来てはいけません！トラブル起こす人は皆さん勘違いしています。

Googleマップは二次元*でしか教えてくれません。(*この点はYahoo マップの方が優れているかも）

Once upon a time, there were three countries that were adjacent to each other across the ocean.

From the perspective of the people living in the western countries, the people living in those three countries looked almost the same, but for some reason they did not get along well with each other and were almost fighting each other.

However, all three countries that were not on good terms had the same serious problems, and although they once dominated the world economy, all three countries perished.

The reason is that “the child was gone.”

When I took a time machine and went back to 2024, I was able to ask a young couple from the largest of the three countries why this happened.

According to them, although financial reasons were certainly the reason they gave up on having children, that was not the main reason.

Once again, when I asked the main reason…

They answered that the reason for this is “food safety” in their country.

There are concerns about the safety of food imported from countries that are not trusted even by the people of their own country, so we at our guesthouse have decided to take a more strict look at food imported from that country.

わたしたちが子供を作らない理由（わけ） 〜 ゲストが教えてくれたもの♫

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

むかしむかし、海をはさんで隣り合う三つの国があったそうな、、、

さらに西の国に住む人たちから見ると、その三つの国に住む人たちは見た目はほとんど変わらないのに、なぜか互いに仲が悪くていがみ合っていたそうだ。

ところが、仲の悪い三つの国はどの国も同じ深刻な問題を抱えていて、一時は世界の経済を席巻したにもかかわらず、三国ともに滅んでしまったとさ。

その理由は「子供がいなくなってしまった」から。

タイムマシンに乗って2024年に戻ってみると、三国の中の一番大きい国から来た若い夫婦にその訳を聞くことが出来ました。

彼らによると、子供を持つことを諦めた理由は、経済的理由も確かにあるものの、それが一番の理由ではないとのことでした。

あらためて、一番の理由を聞くと、、、

その理由は「食の安全性」だそうです。

自国の国民ですら信頼されていない国から輸入している食材の安全性が不安視されているわけで、当宿でもその国から輸入食品については、今まで以上に厳しい目で見ることにしました。

What our guests taught us! – Very important information!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Although I interrupt myself to watch fireworks, I will continue to write down what I noticed from the guests here.

This realization came from a guest who was visiting for work, not a guest who stayed at this guesthouse.

Those guests are important people involved in disaster prevention at our guesthouse.

In the past week, in addition to inspecting the disaster prevention equipment, we also underwent an on-site inspection by the fire department.

Of course, the inspection result was “no instructions needed”. Our guests will continue to be able to spend their time at our guesthouse with peace of mind.

The important thing I learned was the recent situation of emergency dispatches.

When I expressed my gratitude to the ambulance for the many times my father, who passed away last year, became unable to move in his final stages, and my surprise at the speed at which he was rescued,

“Last year may have been better. Nowadays, we often have to call in emergency services from other stations” he said, and explained that it may take quite a while now. 

I thought that the reason for this was probably due to the heatstroke caused by the recent heatwave, so I asked him. But he replied surprisingly

that recently, there have been many requests for ambulances due to the new coronavirus infection.

This guesthouse continues to promote our plan by stating that we are taking measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, but after hearing the voices from firefighters, we have reaffirmed the need to raise our level of infection control measures.

P.S. I don’t/can’t write about it here, but I got a glimpse of one reason why the big fires that keep repeating in the city cannot be stopped.

とっても大事な話！ 〜 ゲストが教えてくれたもの♫

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

花火鑑賞で中断しましたが、引き続きここでのゲストからいただいた気付きを書き記します。

今回の気付きは、宿泊にいらっしゃったゲストさんではなく、仕事で訪問されたゲストからいただいたものです。

そのゲストとは、、、当宿の防災に関わる大事な方たちです。

ここ一週間で防災設備点検に続いて、消防署による立入検査も受けました。

もちろん、検査結果は「指示事項なし」。引き続き宿泊のゲストさんたちには安心して当宿での時間を過ごしていただけます。

で、教わった大事な話とは、、、最近の救急出動の状況。

昨年他界した父がその末期に動けなくなったことで何度も救急車にはお世話になったお礼と、その際の救護までのスピードについての驚きを伝えると、、、

「昨年は良かったかもしれません。今は別の署から駆けつけることも少なくない」とのことで結構時間がかかっているという近況を教えてくれました。

その原因はきっとここ最近の猛暑による熱中症患者のせいかと思って訊くと、意外にも、、、

最近、新型コロナ感染による救急車の出動要請がとても多いそうです。

当宿も引き続き「新型コロナ感染対応」と銘打って滞在をプロモーションしていますが、救急現場の生の声を聞いて、ちょっと感染対策レベルを上げて対処していきたいと再認識しました。

それでは、あらためて不要不急の三密を避けて素敵な一日を！

P.S. ここには書きません／書けませんが、市内で何度も繰り返される大火事、、、歯止めの効かないその理由の一片も垣間見ました。
