Lost 12 years!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
During mayoral election period of the city mired in debt , we learned something new.
Additionally even after the election, we learned another interesting thing.
According to the TV news, it seemed that the new mayor made his wonderful first action.
He spoke to the mayor of Fukuoka city, another ordinance-designated city in same prefecture, for mutual cooperation.

The biggest surprise in this news is that there have been ZERO summit meeting between two cities for more than 12 years during the term of Kitahashi, the current mayor.
Citizens of Kitakyushu (specially officers) know very well what happened in two big cities.
(Fukuoka has developed itself very active, but Kitakyushu not. And the debts is the result.)
Unfortunately, we can’t make up for the lost time.
In that sense, we want to praise new mayor’s action as Nice Move!.
We are not in a situation where we are being mean or looking at each other as rivals.

P.S. If they really have wills to develop inbound tourism market in each area, we want them work with the corporation of three cities, Fukuoka, Kitakyushu and Shimoseki, according to the flow line of tourists. Break invisible barrier for success!

失われた１２年！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
ちゃッキンワースト政令市の首長選挙、選挙期間中に大きな学びがありましたが、
選挙後にも学びが、、、
この町のお正月のイベントで見かけた新市長が、
なんとも素晴らしい最初の動きを見せたようです。
県内、もうひとつの政令市の福岡市に連携を呼びかけたようです。

このニュースの中で、最大の驚きは現市長の任期中１２年もの間一度も両市トップ会談を持つことがなかったという事実！
その１２年の間で、両市で何が起こったかは、北九州市民（特に役人）が最もよく知るところでしょう。
残念ながら、失われた時間を取り戻すことはできません。
そういう意味からも、新市長のこの動き、ナイスムーブと称賛したいですね。
もはや変な意地を張ったり、ライバル視なんてしている状況ではありません。
