Even though we are in the midst of the rainy season, the heat throughout Japan continues and makes us feel like we are going to melt.

Here in the Kanmon area, the temperature is in the low 30s due to the proximity to the sea, but in inland areas of Tokyo, combined with the heat island effect, temperatures can easily exceed 35 degrees.

I am very curious about how they are spending their time in such a hot Tokyo.

The scene outside the window they were looking at was, of course, a scrambled intersection in Shibuya.

The streets of Shibuya are full of GAIJIN everywhere.

Because Japanese people go back to their homes in the suburbs at night, I felt that the proportion of foreigners in the city in the night was over 80%.

There are a lot of GAIJINs even in the loud bus! Are they people who love to party?

Center Street is also full of GAIJIN. It doesn’t seem like they are Japanese Halloween freak who cosplay as GAIJINs.

Over-tourism is being talked about these days, and we would like to see at least 10% of these GAIJINs to country side.

Also, as an hospitality provider, we would like to monitor this situation in Tokyo and other places and prepare for the near future.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

梅雨の真っ只中というのに、溶けてしまいそうな暑さが続いているニッポン全土です。

ここ関門エリアでは海が近いこともあって３０度前半ですが、東京の内陸部だとヒートアイランド現象も相まってゆうに３５度を超えているようです。

そんな猛暑の東京で、彼らはどう過ごしているのかがとても気になります。

窓の外の景色は、、、もちろんスクランブル交差点。渋谷です。

渋谷の街はどこもここもガイジンだらけ！

さらに夜になると日本人は郊外の家に帰ってしまうからか、街の外人比率は８０％以上になってる感じがしました。

センター街もガイジンばかり。ガイジンのコスプレした日本人ハロウィンフリークではなさそうです。

We have introduced how to spend the intense heat around our hotel and in the Kitakyushu/Kanmon area…

It seems like it’s going to be extremely hot in Tokyo today.

We feel a bit sorry for Tokyo travelers, so while looking back at last month’s exploration of the capital, We’d like to introduce some recommended spots for the GAIJIN tourists who are sweating their way through hot Tokyo this summer.

This is a spot where you can fully experience Japanese tradition with your whole body.

Yes, that’s SENTO (a Japanese style public bath)!

At a time when many public bathhouses are closing down all over the country, this one just opened this year.

It locates right in the middle of Tokyo, along Omotesando in Harajuku!

As it has become a hot topic, the bathroom was quite crowded on the day I visited, but according to the staff, there are many days when entry is restricted, so it seemed like it was still a good day.

The scale of the public bath room is small, and the number of users seems to flock to it, so I don’t think I will use it as a public bath for a while, but…

perhaps because it’s a collaboration with a major detergent manufacturer, there are plenty of free amenities such as shampoo, not like other public bathes.

The space after the bath was also stocked with relaxing items, and I felt it was a very comfortable space to spend time in.

I recommend GAIJIN tourists who are sightseeing in the extremely hot Tokyo this summer to be encouraged to bring a change of clothes with them when they go out in the morning, and to enjoy cold water bath from hot water bath here after sightseeing and sweating in the afternoon. I would like them to change their clothes, be refreshed here, and go next sightseeing to Tokyo night towns.

It might be a good idea to bring just their underwear and come dressed in the Tokyo fashion they picked up in Harajuku that day.

The building, where this SENTO is located, is the latest complex building built in the middle of Harajuku.

There are also unique shops on one floor of the building that overturns the conventional wisdom of Japan, and there is no doubt that it will become a spot that attracts even more attention in the future.

噂の現場2024#3 – 猛暑をホットに気分転換

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

当宿周辺、北九州・関門エリアでの猛暑の過ごし方を紹介してきましたが、、、

今日などは、東京ではまさに酷暑になりそうだとのこと。

ちょっと可哀想なので、先月の首都探索を振り返りながら、この夏クソ暑い東京をダラダラ汗を流しながら歩きまわっているガイジン観光客にもオススメのスポットを紹介しておきましょう！

にっぽんの伝統を全身で味わえるスポットです。

そう、それは銭湯！

全国で銭湯がどんどん閉業しているこのご時世、なんと今年開業したばかりの銭湯です。

それも東京のど真ん中、原宿の表参道沿いに！

話題になっているだけあって、訪問した日の浴室は結構混み合っていましたが、店員さんによると入館制限する日も多いそうで、この日はまだ良い方らしかったのです。

銭湯としての規模は小さく、そこに利用者が押しかけるようなので、多分自分はしばらくは銭湯としては利用することはないとは思いますが、、、

洗剤メーカーとコラボしていて、銭湯らしからず、シャンプー等の無料アメニティも充実していました。

また湯上がりのスペースには、くつろぎアイテムも充実していて、とても過ごしやすい空間だと感じました。

この夏、酷暑の東京を観光するガイジン観光客には、朝出かける時に着替えを持って外出し、観光して昼過ぎの大汗をかいた頃にここで熱いお湯からの冷たい水風呂を満喫して着替えて、夕方の観光に繋げてほしいですね。

着替えは下着だけ持って行って、その日原宿でゲットした東京ファッションに着替えて出てくるのも良いかもしれませんね。

こちらの銭湯が入っているビル、原宿のど真ん中に建てられた最新の複合ビルです。

ビル内のあるフロアにはこれまでの日本の常識をくつがえすショップも入っていて、これからさらに注目を浴びるスポットなること間違いありません。

My new favorite

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Shizuoka Prefecture, which owns the southern half of the highest mountain in Japan.

I’ve encountered delicious food like charcoal-grilled hamburgers, local special oden, and crispy gyoza every time I pass by.

At such Shizuoka, I could find a new favorite this time.

It’s a powerful Bento this time.

This was also introduced on a TV program, so I made a note of it, and when I tried it, it was really delicious.

However, I was misled by their business hours.

As I heard that the store was open until 3 o’clock, so I hurriedly slipped into the store just after 2PM and I found that it is open until 3AM after midnight.

Since it’s a bento shop, I assumed it would be open until 3pm but the lady at the store taught me, “Many of our customers buy these as souvenirs after drinking parties.”

As I left the store and looked around at the surrounding shops, I realized why. It’s a souvenir to atone for their sins.

新しいお気に入り

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

日本一の山の南半分を保有する静岡県。

これまでも炭焼きハンバーグや、おでん、餃子と毎回通過するごとに旨いもんに遭遇してきましたが、、、

そんな静岡で今回もまたまた新しいお気に入りに出会うことができました。

今回はパワフルなお弁当です。

こちらもまたテレビ番組で紹介されていたのをメモしておいて、実食してみたら超旨かったという流れです。

ただこちらの営業時間には勘違いさせられました。

３時までということだったので、あわてて２時過ぎにお店に滑り込んだところ、３時といっても深夜３時までとのこと。

お弁当屋さんということなので勝手に午後３時までと思ってしまったのですが、売り場のおばちゃんに聞くと「ウチは飲み会の後のお土産に買って行かれるお客さんが多いのよ」とのこと。

店を出て、周囲のお店を見回して、その理由を納得しました。罪滅ぼしのお土産ってわけですね。

いずれにしてもビーチに持っていくのに最適なお弁当をゲットすることが出来ました。
