Ferry boat on weekend, then what on weekdays?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The ferry across the strait that we have recommended is actually not very popular on weekdays.

This is because there are no events on the other side of the strait that over 90% of our guests who stay on the weekend want to attend.

We had always felt sorry for the guests who had come without knowing about it, but then we found a great place.

Some guests who really like sushi have visited both places, and some have left comments saying that they preferred this one. (*Opinions vary from person to person.)

So, from now on, we hope all tourists will come and visit Kitakyushu without worrying about weekends or weekdays.

週末には渡船、ウィークデイには、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

当宿がオススメする海峡の渡船、実はウィークデイにはあまり人気がありません。

週末にいらっしゃるゲストさんの９割以上が行かれる対岸のイベントがないからです。

知らずにいらっしゃるゲストさんにはこれまで申し訳ないなぁと思っていたら、いい場所が出来たんです。

お好きなゲストさんなどは両方いらっしゃったりしていて、こっちの方が良かったなどという感想も残されています。（*意見には個人差があります。）

というわけで、これからは週末・ウィークデー気にせずに北九州観光に来ていただきたいですね。

I went to the beach for the first time in a while

and was surprised to see how much it had changed.

The project is expected to be completed this fiscal year, so it may be in the final stages.

Traveling around sightseeing spots and gourmet food is great, but we hope tourists will also experience these unique initiatives.

Kitakyushu, once a polluted city, has now redeemed itself and become a clean energy city.

様子が随分と変わっていたので驚きました。

本年度計画は完成するとのことで、最終仕上げ段階なのかもしれませんね。

観光スポットやグルメ中心の旅行も良いですが、観光客にはこうしたユニークな取り組みにも触れてほしいですね。

かつての公害都市北九州も、今や汚名返上してクリーン・エネルギー・シティですよ。

It is said that one of the things that surprises foreigners who visit Japan for the first time is how clean and safe it is.

In particular, safety levels seem to vary even among developed countries.

People overseas say that they can get their lost wallets back and that they can’t trust things like drink vending machines on the side of the road.

If that’s the case…

maybe this isn’t in Japan?

This picture was taken along a prefectural road near “Our City.”

Many foreigners say that if vending machines were placed on the side of the road in their country, they would surely not survive unscathed… and this is exactly what they imagined.

However, it seems that such damage is not limited to vending machines.

This is news about the same prefectural road after heavy rain last month, and it’s shocking to see the kind of terrible people who can do such unbelievable things.

The road has already been repaired, but whether the great damage that these crimes have caused to Japan’s myth of safety can be repaired will depend largely on how we respond afterwards.

にっぽん安全都市伝説の実状

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

初めて日本を訪れた外国人が驚くことに、日本の清潔さと安全さが挙げられると言われます。

特に安全さは先進国でもレベルが違うようです。

落とした財布は戻ってくるし、道路脇に設置されている飲料の自動販売機なども海外では信じられないと言われます。

では、、、

もしかしたら、ここは日本ではないのかも？

こちらは「おいらの街」の近郊にある県道沿い。

外国人の多くが言う、もし自販機が自分の国で道路脇に置かれているとしたら、タダでは済まない、、、って言っているその状態が見られます。まさに彼らが想像したとおりの姿でしょう。

なお、こうした被害は自販機だけでは済まないようです。

こちらは先月の大雨の後の同じ県道についてのニュースですが、ひどいことをする輩がいるもんだと驚かされます。

道路はすでに修復されていましたが、こうした犯罪がにっぽんの安全神話に与える大きなダメージが修復できるかどうかはその後の対応によるところが大きいですね。
