Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Because this guesthouse has hosted more foreign tourists than Japanese tourists,
we have tried to incorporate Japanese seasonal events into our hospitality since its opening.
In this respect, we are proud that this is the second facility in this country, second only to nursery schools and kindergartens, where you can feel the sense of the seasons.
What our guesthouse was conscious of on the weekend was, of course, SETSUBUN!
We didn’t throw beans, because it would be difficult to clean, but I wanted to create a proper SETSUBUN atmosphere.
There is one thing that the host felt during this SETSUBUN weekend.
When I went to the supermarket, I saw a large number of their customers standing in front of piles of EHOMAKI rolls 恵方巻き” .
Recently, I can’t help but feel that the shops and TV commercials have shifted too much towards EHOMAKI, which has a higher commercial value.
In the first place, EHOMAKI was not a nationwide tradition before.
Nowadays, it has become a seasonal item that many people even pre-order.
The host wondered what “beans” are these days, which is a more traditional food for SETSUBUN.
Have you all eaten beans?
I can’t help but feel that there are more and more Japanese people who have eaten EHOMAKI but not beans.

しきたり 対 商業価値
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
日本人観光客より、外国人観光客を多くおもてなししてきたせいで、、、
開業以来、当宿ではにっぽんの季節の行事をおもてなしに取り入れるようにしてきました。
そういう点では、この国にあって、保育園、幼稚園に次いで、季節感を感じられる施設ではないかと自負しています。
そんな当宿が週末に意識したのが、、、もちろん節分！
掃除が大変なので、豆まきこそしませんでしたが、ちゃんと節分の雰囲気は醸し出したつもりです。
そんな節分に宿主が感じたことがひとつ。
スーパーマーケットに行くと、「恵方巻き」の山にたかっている大勢の買い物客を見かけたのですが、、、
最近ではより商業価値の高い「恵方巻き」にお店も、テレビCMも変重しすぎている感が気になって仕方ありません。
そもそも、恵方巻きって以前は全国的なしきたりではなかったはずです。
それが今では大勢が予約までして手にいれるような季節アイテムに化けています。
さらに最近ではフードロスのやり玉に上がるほど、皆さん販売に精を出しています。
そんな昨今ですが、宿主はより本来的なしきたり食である「豆」ってどうなんだろうと思いました。
みなさんは豆食べましたか？
恵方巻きは食べたけど、豆は食べなかったという「にっぽん人」少なくないような気がして仕方ありません。
