My favorite viewing spot

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Here in the Kanmon area, fireworks festivals are held somewhere every weekend,

However, the number one fireworks festival is

Kanmon Strait Firework Festival!

It is a huge summer event with 15,000 fireworks being launched on both sides of the strait.

The structure of the fireworks is also different from other fireworks festivals around the area with bunch of  large fireworks.

As our guests came all the way from foreign counties, they ignored the crowds and went out to Mojiko to watch the fireworks, and were buried in the crowd…

but actually, we can see them pretty well from this guesthouse.

With zero minute walk, you can see fireworks when you open the window.

To be honest, I like the fireworks from here the most because they are so impressive and you can compare the size with the tower in Shimonoseki (153m).

P.S. Our main viewing fireworks are those of Shimonoseki side, but they were not good this summer with drone performance with bad sense.

お気に入りの展望スポット

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ここ関門エリアでは、毎週末どこかで開催されている花火大会ですが、、、

やっぱり一番は、、、

関門海峡花火大会！

海峡の両岸で合わせて1万5000発が打ち上げらる超ビックな花火大会。

その構成もそんじゅそこらの花火大会とは違って大型の花火がバンバン上がります。

せっかく来たからとゲストさんたちは人混みもものともぜずに、門司港まで花火鑑賞に出掛けていって人に埋もれちゃいましたが、、、

実は、当宿からでも結構いい感じで見れるんです。

徒歩ゼロ分、窓を開けたら花火が見える、、、

正直言うと、下関のタワー（153m）と大きさも比較できることで迫力満点となるここからの花火が一番好きだったりします。

それでは、一番のお気に入りスポットで素敵な一日を！

追記：ここから見る花火は対岸の下関のものがメインになるのですが、今年は途中センスの悪いドローンによる宣伝広告があったりでイマイチでした。門司港側の花火と比べて非常に見劣りしていました。

Monday was a complete change from Sunday and it was rainy. It was also a pretty heavy rain.

Come to think of it, Sunday’s weather was a blessing.

We were really glad that the weather was off by a day and so many people didn’t get soaked.

It was really lucky Sunday for all runners, event officials, roadside support gallery, our guest, his family and us.

However, the weather seemed to be a little too hot for runners, many of them sweated a lot.

It seems that our guest were also able to complete the race, though there is a trouble along the way.

月曜日の関門エリアは日曜とはうって変わって雨。それも結構まとまった雨でした。

天気が一日ずれて、あれだけの大人数がすぶ濡れにならずに本当に良かったですね。

ランナー全員、運営関係者、沿道の応援ギャラリー、ゲストさん、その家族、そして当宿にとってもラッキーな日曜日でした。

ゲストハウスの年越し / Passing the year at the guesthouse in Japan

Passing the year at the guesthouse in Japan

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Honestly speaking, I had wanted to write about this.

However news about big earthquake, Tsunami and airplane crush made myself feel dizzy this new year days.

Anyway, on the new year eve we had strong wind and rain till the evening but it got fine before midnight.

New year count down fireworks were launched as per usual, and that made our guest feel so exciting.

Actually we decided whether we would go to see new year sun rise, but our guest woke up very early on Christmas Eve to come here, and looked so tired. So we decided not to go.

As for the cons of that, we made our guest experience Japanese style new year celebration in the morning of new year day.

And we eat together Japanese soup dish for New Year.

Not like usual, we cook it with recipe of central Japan style.

Both of our guest and we felt like we were able to get off to a very good start to the year.

(until we saw the news about earthquake)

We bet people affected by earthquake and airplane crush wanted to go back the timing of such new year morning.

ゲストハウスの年越し

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

本当はこの話題で記事が書きたかったのですが、、、

大地震や津波、はたまた航空機事故の報道で頭がくらくらしてしまいました。

さて、今年の大晦日は当初強風や雨で実施が心配されるも、日付が変わる頃には月が綺麗に見えるほど穏やかな天気になりました。

恒例のカウントダウン花火が打ち上げられ、ゲストさんにもとても喜ばれました。

元旦の初日の出はゲストさん次第でどうするか決めようしてましたが、大晦日の早朝起きで飛行機を乗り継いで福岡まで来られたとのことで、お疲れのようだったので辞めることにしました。

その代わりといってはなんですが、元旦の朝は遅く起きてきたゲストさんにしっかり元旦のしきたりを体験してもらい、

いっしょに作ったお雑煮をいただきました。

今年は気分を変えて、中部地方風のお雑煮にしてみました。

ゲストさんも、こちらもとても良い一年のスタートを切ることが出来たように感じました。

地震も、事故も、巻き込まれてしまった人たちはきっとそのタイミングに時間が戻ればなぁと思っていることでしょう。

それでは、正月三日目は何事も起こらない平穏で素敵な一日を！
