The brand-new facility built at the waterfront on the opposite bank of the strait.
It seems to be attracting an extraordinary amount of attention.
The city newsletter reveals that the facility receives special treatment from the local government.
It is unusual in this country for a public institution such as a local government to feature a profit-making corporation on the front page of its new year first publication.
(Even though it is not a recipient of the tax income because the city does not set an accommodation tax.)
Perhaps reflecting these expectations, the lobby and its cafe space seemed to be filled with locals who did not appear to be accommodation guests.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
対岸の海峡ウォーターフロントの出来立てほやほやの施設。
どうも尋常ではない注目を浴びているようです。
ご当地の自治体からも特別な扱いを受けていることを、その「市報」からうかがい知ることができます。
通常、自治体のような公の機関が発行する機関誌の年初第一面に利益法人を取り上げることはこの国では異例のことです。
（宿泊税を導入していない当該市にとっては、宿泊税収入の受け皿にもなり得ないのに、、、）
そんな期待を反映してか、ロビーやそのカフェスペースには宿泊客ではなさそうなローカルな方々が多く集っているようでした。
