We’ve mentioned here that our favorite local supermarket has acquired a huge Tokyo market chain…
It will be interesting to see how the balance of power will change in the future.
It looks like Warring States period of the supermarket industry will start soon.
Don’t be fooled just because it’s a Kyushu supermarket! Its origins and history are very unique and not found in other supermarket chains in Japan.
It appears that they only have offices within Tokyo and no stores yet, but when traveling between the two locations, the parking lots of the stores I see (in Chugoku, Kinki, and the Tokyo suburbs) are all full of cars.
In the upcoming battle for power at supermarkets, what the host are most looking forward to is a showdown between those who deal in fresh food.
We are hoping that this acquisition will enable the enormous supermarket group to exert even greater purchasing power, resulting in a dramatic drop in prices for consumers.
When traveling to and from Tokyo, I was able to enjoy imagining the future of the supermarket power structure and actually visiting related actual stores.
I’m especially looking forward to a heated battle with this supermarket group.
As a host, this will be a showdown between the two main chains used at each of my two bases, so the sparks of this battle will have a direct impact on my real life and our business.
With the current climate in which we all suffer from rising prices, it would be great if we, the consumers, could benefit from this fierce battle among the large retailers closest to consumers.
From now on, we would like to share actual bargain information in advance for the benefit of everyone in Tokyo.

スーパー夏の陣
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
当宿が贔屓にしている地元スーパーマーケットが、東京の巨大マーケットチェーンを買収したことはここでも紹介しましたが、、、
将来的にどう勢力図が変わっていくのか、興味津々です。まさにスーパー戦国時代となりそうです。
九州のスーバーだからと侮るなかれ！その生い立ちと変遷は他のスーパーチェーンにはないとてもユニークなものです。
都内にオフィスだけで店舗はまだないようですが、二拠点間を移動する際に見かける店舗（中国・近畿や東京近郊）の駐車場はどこも車でいっぱいです。
これからのスーパー勢力争いの中で、宿主が一番期待しているのが、生鮮食料品を扱うもの同士の対決です。
当宿としては、今回の買収で巨大化したスーパーマーケットグループがさらに強力となる購買パワーを発揮して、消費者にとっての商品価格がドーンと下がることを期待しているところです。
東京への行き来の際にはスーパー勢力図の未来を想像しながら、実際に関連する実店舗を利用してみるという楽しみも出来ました。
特に、こちらのスーパーとの熱い戦いにはとても期待しています。
宿主としては、二拠点それぞれでメインに利用している二つのチェーンの対決となるので、その戦いの火花は実際の生活やビジネスに直接影響してきます。
物価高に苦しむ今日この頃、消費者に一番近い大型小売店で激しい戦いが繰り広げられることで、私たち消費者が少しでも恩恵を得られるといいですね。
これからは東京の皆さんのためにも、実際のお買い得情報を事前に共有していきたいと考えています。
