No longer a city
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I was so distracted by the topics on the other side of the strait that I forgot to mention this issue on this side…
It has completely withdrawn from our town.
The branch counters were closed a long time ago, and the last remaining ATM corner has also disappeared at the beginning of this month, meaning that there is no longer any “city bank” in our town.
In Tokyo, there are stores of various sizes in front of almost every station, whether it’s JR or private, but this shows that the emphasis on big cities and the neglect of rural areas by mega banks has become even more pronounced.
If you are considering a U-turn or I-turn move to country side of Japan from big cities, please be sure to review your main bank before you move.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
対岸の話題に気を取られ過ぎてしまい、本件、ここで取り上げるのを失念していましたが、、、
わが町から完全に撤退してしまいました。
店舗窓口はずいぶん前に閉鎖され、最後に残っていたATMコーナーもこれでなくなり、わが町から「都市銀行」がなくなりました。
東京だとJR・私鉄問わず、ほとんど各駅前に大小の店舗があるのに、大都市重視・地方軽視がさらに進んだことになります。
Uターン・Iターンを検討している方は、移住する前に、どうぞメインバンクの見直しをなさってくださいね。
