Typhoon passing?
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The typhoon that made landfall in Kyushu this time seems to be still moving slowly around Shikoku.
However at one point, it seemed like it was heading in this direction, and we were very worried about its path.
On Thursday, the day the typhoon hit Kyushu, the JR Kagoshima Line was completely suspended, causing chaos!
At this guesthouse, a guest who was scheduled to come to JR Komorie station by train was unable to come, and we had to take action.
Fortunately, our guest had already arrived in Kitakyushu city, so we decided to drive to Kokura to pick up the guest.
It had been a while since the train stopped, and there were no taxis in front of Kokura Station, so it looked completely different from usual situation.
Thanks to this, we were able to meet our guests smoothly in front of the station and could make the guest check in without any incident.
When we think about the possibility of something happening in the future, we really feel that this location is one of our guesthouse’s strengths, as it takes less than 20 minutes by car to get to a key station like Kokura, where Shinkansen Nozomi also stops.
After that, it rained like a waterfall, and the guests were unable to go out.
Instead, we were able to chat a lot in this guesthouse and had a fun time under house arrest by the typhoon.

台風一過？
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
今回、九州に上陸した台風は、今だに四国あたりをノロノロと移動しているようですが、、、
一時はこっちに向かっている印象もあって、その進路が非常に心配されました。
台風襲来の当日木曜日にはJR鹿児島本線が全線運休になるなど、てんやわんや！
当宿でも電車でJR小森江駅へ来る予定のゲストが来れなくなり、対応を迫られました。
幸いなことに、ゲストはすでに北九州には到着していたので、小倉まで車で迎えに行くこととなりました。
鉄道が止まってしばらくたった小倉駅前にはタクシーも一台もなくて、いつもとは全く違う様子でした。
おかげでそんな駅前でスムーズにゲストと落ち合えて、無事にチェックインしていただくことができました。
今後も何か起こる可能性を考えると、のぞみも停車する小倉のようなキーステーションに車で２０分もかからず行けるこのロケーションは当宿の強みだなぁとつくづく感じました。
その後は滝のような雨が降り、ゲストさんは外出もままならない様子でしたが、
その代わりに当宿内でたくさんおしゃべりができて、楽しい台風による軟禁状態を過ごすことができました。
