Autumn with the sky high, and people growing so stout
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The host was able to admire the perfectly round and beautiful moon, a day later than the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Speaking of perfect circle, I was reminded of something I saw earlier this week.
It happened at the food court, which is a blessing spot in these days of soaring prices, I mentioned here a few days ago.
In fact, the food images I posted here that day were excerpts from big vertical images.
While looking at the round moon, I remembered the round body that was in the remaining part of the image that had been cut out.
I was struck by the contrast between her shape and her cute facial expressions of late teens or early twenties.
（I did remember some of my staffs when I was stationed in the southern United States.)
While I was eating junk food, I became concerned about the Americanization of Japanese people’s physiques and reflected on my own eating habits.
In fact, the Japanese proverb, “Horses grow stout under the Autumn sky,” is actually came from a Chinese proverb, “Autumn, high in the sky and horses growing stout,” and it seems that its original meaning included strong “warning.”
These days, I have reaffirmed the need to discipline myself to live a well-balanced life with “Autumn for sports” without being biased toward “Autumn for appetite.”

P.S. As a further countermeasure, the host decided to add “Autumn for reading” to “Autumn for sports”.

天高く
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
中秋節より一日遅れて真円の美しい月を愛でることができた宿主ですが、、、
まんまるといえば、この週初めに遭遇したものを思い出しました。
ここでも紹介した物価高騰の今日日にあって、とてもありがたいフードコートでのこと。
実は先日ココに掲載したジャンキーな食べ物の画像は縦向き画像から一部を抜粋したものでした。
月を見ながら思い出したのは、切り取られた残りの部分に写っていたまんまる。
10代後半か20代前半の可愛らしい表情と対称的だったことが印象的でした。
（アメリカ南部に駐在していた頃の、部下数人のことを思い出しました。）
ジャンクフードを食べながら、日本人の体格のアメリカ化を憂うとともに、自らに照らして食生活を反省したのでした。
実は日本の諺「天高く馬肥ゆる秋」とは、中国起源の「秋高塞馬肥」だそうで、その意味には「警告」の意味が含まれていたようです。
「食欲の秋」に偏ることなく、「スポーツの秋」とのバランスのとれた生活を心がけるよう自らを律する必要性を再認識した今日この頃です。
それでは、自らを戒めバランスの取れた生活を心がける素敵な一日を！
