What we have lost is great!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
In my hometown Kitakyushu,
I found another vacant lot in the town.
Because the number of SENTO (Japanese public baths) nationwide is rapidly decreasing, I have mainly visited long-established ones in the Kanto and Tokai regions…
But one public bath in my hometown has disappeared.
Though I was planning to visit there soon.
It seems that four public baths have gone out of business in Kitakyushu City since last year.
Like Japanese cuisine, SENTO is a culture that Japanese people should be proud of and something important that we should not be abandoned, so it is such a shame.
While I was volunteering in Kesennuma, I realized that SENTO can be a very important facility in emergencies such as natural disasters.
Thank you and you have a nice and relaxing day sometimes in a big bath of your town.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
ふるさと北九州、、、
町中にまた更地が出来ていました。
全国的に急速にその数を減らしているからと、関東や東海の老舗を中心に利用していたら、、、
お膝元、この町の銭湯がなくなっていました。
近々利用しようと予定してたのに、、、
調べてみるとどうも北九州市内では昨年より４施設が廃業となっているようです。（鶴、大黒、やなぎ、中将）
和食同様に日本人の誇るべき文化、放棄すべきでない大切なものなのに、残念で仕方ありません。
自然災害等の非常時にもとても重要な施設になりうることは気仙沼ボランティアの時に実感しました。
それでは、時には身近の大きなお風呂でゆったり素敵な一日を！
