An episode with guests who stayed here last week.
Guests mistook the chimney light seen from the guest room window to be a lighthouse, so I informed them that they were aircraft obstruction lights. When I additionally told them how this town had been spared from exposure to radiation thanks to the smart thinking of the steelworks employees, guests seemed more surprised than I had imagined.
Later, when I asked them about the places they visited on this trip, I understood why.
It seems that after coming to this town, they realized once again the importance of peace.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
先週ご利用されたゲストさんとのエピソード。
ゲストルームの窓から見える煙突の光を灯台と勘違いされていたので、航空障害灯であることを教えるとともに、かつて、その製鉄所の職員の機転によって、この町が被曝から免れた話をしたところ、想像以上に驚いた様子でした。
そのあとで、今回の旅行で訪問された場所を聞いた時にその理由が分かりました。
この町に来て、あらためて平和の大切さを認識されたようです。
ゲストさんにとっても、こちらにとっても貴重な経験になりました。
