Why Japanese?!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
There is a remarkable Japanese news all over the world.
Yes, it is the trouble in Tokyo Olympic organizing committee.
They try to finish this trouble and complaint by the president’s resignation, but people in the world also focus on the characteristic aspect about female discrimination in Japan.
As a guesthouse with lighthouse who keep trying to show some kind of guidepost for young generations, we are hoping that Japanese people notice this as a good chance to realize strange and shameful part of us and start to improve them.
Because not only this comment of female discrimination, but also the resignation are strange and old fashioned Japanese customers like HARAKIRI. This news may show the civilizing level of Japanese society to the world. If there isn’t COVID-19 pandemic through the world, Olympic was held as scheduled and there is no chance to show our shameful aspect. So I personally think that something invisible power made this situation.
National isolation of EDO era is a story of the past, but Japanese people who still living in small islands’ country are ignorant and cannot distinguish barbaric behavior or not, like people surrounded by high walls in popular Japanese comic. Some foreign people have shown us how strange, but we have laughed at it and made no action to improve.
Today, Feb. 14th is the Valentine’s day. In Japan many Japanese women gift chocolates to men and there are a few chocolates remain on the shelf in the stores. Some women buy chocolates for the men they don’t want to give.
Valentine’s day should be very fair for all people who love, but Japanese misread the meaning of the day to be convenient for a man and made it a yearly event. Many Japanese believe that it is the right thing, but I think it is quite strange. Unfortunately, female discrimination, resignation to finish trouble, misunderstanding of Valentine’s day, no participation on Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, officers’ SONTAKU problem, and Cherry blossom viewing party by privatizing public money are just a small part of bad/old-fashioned Japanese society.
This may be the very last chance for the King and people to notice that we are naked, or we all may be arrested for public indecency.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
今、世界で話題になっている日本のニュースがあります。
そう、東京オリンピック組織委員会の問題です。
関係者は問題発言をした会長の辞任で幕引きを試みているようですが、今回は日本国内の体質的な問題にも世界は注目しているようです。
常々、若い人たちに何かしら道標を提供したいと努めている灯台の宿「灯火」としては、これをいい機会ととらえて「なんかおかしい日本」をさらけ出し、恥ずかしさを自覚・改善する良い機会になればいいと考えています。
なぜなら、女性軽視だけでなく、今回の辞任劇も現代の「ハラキリ」に見えて、日本の滑稽さを国際舞台にさらけ出したように感じたからです。もし新型コロナウイルスの世界流行がなければ、こんな風に恥部を見られることがなかったかもしれないと思うと、なにか目に見えない力を感じなくもありません。
江戸時代の鎖国は昔の話ですが、島国に長いこと住んでいる日本人はあらゆる意味で「高い壁の中にいる漫画の登場人物たち」のように無知で、壁の外では野蛮とされることに疑問すら感じてなかったりするからです。日本を訪れたガイジンにそれを指摘されることがあっても、笑って済まして、問題はそのままにしてきました。
折しも本日２月１４日は「バレンタインデー」。日本では「女性」が「チョコレート」を買うことで、ストアのチョコレートの棚は品薄状態です。中にはあげたくもない人のためにチョコレートを買っている女性もまだ少なくないようです。
本来、愛する人に公平であるはずの「バレンタイン」ですら、男性優位に解釈し、一般化し、それを未だに変だと思わない国民はやはりどこかおかしい気がします。そして女性軽視発言や、辞任で幕引き、バレンタインの都合良い解釈、核兵器禁止条約への不参加、官僚の忖度、公金私物化による「桜を見る会」などは日本の恥部のほんの一例に過ぎません。
そろそろ王様も国民も自分がはだかであることに気付かないと手遅れとなり「公然わいせつ罪」でブチ込まれてしまうタイミングなのかもしれません。
