It was snowing quite a lot early in the morning on Sunday here in the Kanmon area…

However, by the time the guests went out for sightseeing, we could see blue sky and started to get sunshine.

Sleep well?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On Saturday morning, I was watching a ferry coming through Kanmon Strait to Shimonoseki Port.

It seems that the guests who checked in happened to be on that boat.

Many of the guests who used the ferry from winter to early spring were suffering from lack of sleep and poor physical condition.

They said it was a comfortable voyage.

As we could imagine, the quality of a boat trip is largely influenced by the season.

快適に寝れた？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

土曜の朝、関門海峡〜下関港に入港するフェリーを見ていたのですが、、、

チェックインされたゲストさんたちが、たまたまその船に乗っていたそうです。

冬から初春に同フェリーを利用されたゲストさんには、睡眠不足・体調不順になったという方が続出していましたが、、、

今は快適な船旅だったとのこと。

やはり船旅の良し悪しは季節が大きく影響するようです。

それでは、季節の特徴をしっかり把握して素敵な一日を！

最期の航海 / The Last Voyage

The Last Voyage

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Continuing from last time, let’s talk about ships again.

The sky above this Kanmon on Wednesday was clear blue.

Attracted by such blue sky, I headed towards the port and

I found a large cruise ship was moored there.

When I see a large ship moored at this location, I am reminded of a friend who recently passed away.

He was in charge of the task of bringing such a large ship to dock in this town.

I remember many times seeing him standing under a tent like this, holding a bouquet of flowers to hand to the captain.

The ship this time was a Mediterranean-registered ship, and it seemed that many of the passengers were quite elderly, and they seemed to be enjoying the last voyage of their lives.

My friend, who rushed to this guesthouse when I opened it, may have departed for the voyage to the underworld, a step ahead of them.

最期の航海

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

前回に引き続き、船のお話。

水曜日の関門の空は抜けるような青空。

そんな青空に誘われて、港の方まで行ってみると、、、

そこには大型客船が停泊していました。

この場所に大型の船が係留されているのを見ると、最近あっちの世界に旅立った同級の友のことを思い出します。

こんな大きい船をこの町に着岸させる、そんな仕事を先頭切ってやっていた彼が、

こんな感じのテントの下で、船長に手渡す花束を手に立っていたのを何度も見かけたことを思い出します。

今回の船は地中海船籍の船、乗客はどうもかなりの高齢者が多いようで、人生最後の航海を楽しまれている様子でした。

この宿の開業時にも駆けつけてくれた友は、彼等よりも一足お先に黄泉の国への航海に旅立ってしまったのかもしれません。

それでは、早くに逝ってしまった大切な人の分まで現世を満喫する素敵な一日を！
