The other side of the Tunnel?!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Since we wrote about strange tunnel, there have been rare astronomic event, typhoon attack, department store’s closing and so on. So I focus these but let us re-focus about tunnel and what is on the other side of tunnel.
(We keep what is inside of tunnel in secret.)
What is on the other side?
It is the only one swimming pool in Japan.
What is only one? It is the swimming pool using purified seawater in it. I heard that there is a sea-water intake at the tip of the pipe. They get only clear seawater at the high tide.
I met with the engineer of the pool and he taught me a lot about the swimming pool.
The blue tanks are the filter and it make the salt water clear and supply clear salt water into the swimming pool. I heard one good news from him that one of the two blue filter tanks was just renewed last year. Renewal means that they will keep maintaining this facility and that made me happy. There are so many things have disappeared from this town and I was afraid that this pool may be gone someday soon.
He told me there is zero possibility that this pool will disappear, because it is registered as a part of retro town development in Mojiko.
At the same time, I heard one disappointing new too. Another swimming pool in this town which was as popular among children as this seawater pool, “DAIRI swimming pool”, will be closed soon. Dairi pool was famous for is special aroma smell (smell of a cow shed). I was also a boy in DAIRI area, so closing of
the pool is very disappointing for me.

P.S. I recommend to meet with nice looking life saving guys in the Mekari Swimming pool, who is like the member in “Bay Watch”(American TV drama) to the girls who visit only Retro area in Mojiko.

トンネルを抜けると、、、？！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
この町にある不思議なトンネルの話をした後、めったに見ることの出来ない天体イベントや、台風の上陸などがあり、話が逸れてしまいましたが、トンネルの向こう側の話をしたいと思います。
（トンネルの中のヒミツは秘密のままにしておきます。）
トンネルの向こうに何があるかと言えば、、、
それは日本に唯一無二のプールです。
なにが唯一かと言えば、海峡からポンプで引いた海水をキレイにろ過して使っているということです。画像に見えるパイプの先に取水口があるらしく、満潮の海水のキレイな時にだけ取水しているそうです。
プールの管理者と話をする機会があり、色々教えてもらいました。
取水した海水を画像奥に見える水色のろ過器でさらにキレイにしてプールに供給しているということです。そこでうれしいニュース。２つあるうちの一方のろ過器、去年取り替えたばかりだそうです。なにがうれしいかって、この町にある施設はなくなる一方なので、いつかこの塩水プールもなくなるのではと本気で心配していたからです。
そのことを話すと「この塩水プールがなくなることはない」と教えてくれました。
なぜなら、このプールは「レトロなまちづくりの一貫事業として登録されているから」だそうです。
同時に、とても残念なニュースも聞きました。子供の頃にこの塩水プールとこの町の人気を二分していた「大里プール」はまもなく閉鎖されるそうです。利用したことのある人には懐かしい「香り」で有名なプール。自分も大里地区出身なので寂しいばかりです。

P.S. レトロエリアまでしか行ったことのないレディースには、「ベイウォッチ（米国人気ドラマ）」に出てくるようなイケメン・ライフセーバーが多いこの塩水プール、是非一度利用してもらいたいですね。
