Over the New Year period
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
After going through the tunnel, where a toll raise is scheduled, I explored the town on the other side of the strait and I was surprised very much.
Because it seems that a lovely old style coffee shop that was run by a former barista at the former British Consulate, which I had visited before,
a local deli shop,
and even a store that was a central shopping destination for local people will all be lost/have been lost.
This is very unfortunate, along with the closure of our competitor guesthouse that we reported on earlier.
Perhaps they were unable to resist the changing times, such as the coronavirus pandemic, various rising prices and so on.
Thank you and you have a nice day without being swept away by the times and without falling behind.

この年末年始の間に
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
通行料金の値上げを予定しているトンネルを抜けて、対岸の町を散策してみて驚きました。
以前利用した旧英国領事館のバリスタ？だった人がドロップオフして営業していた雰囲気の良い喫茶店（カフェではない）や、
町のお惣菜屋さんや、
そして、地元の人たちにとって地域のお買い物の中心だったお店までもが、失くなってしまう／しまったみたいなんです。
先にレポート済みの同業者のことと併せて、とても残念です。
コロナ禍や物価高騰など時代の波にあらがえなかったのかもしれませんね。
それでは、時代に流されず乗り遅れず素敵な一日を！
