Always Christmas!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

One of our guests this week really enjoyed their stay here.

After their checking out, I found a message in the room and when I checked it and I saw

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

the guest commented that their stay here felt like a Christmas present.

We were deeply impressed as a host, but at the same time, considering that this guesthouse did not offer any special/additional hospitality just because of them.

Does this mean that we offer Christmas presents all year round?

So, please come and stay with us any time of the year to get the Christmas present from us.

いつでもクリスマス！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

今週、当宿をご利用いただいたゲストさんの中に、ここでの滞在をえらく気に入ってくれた方がいらっしゃっいました。

チェックアウト後にメッセージがあったので確認したところ、そこには、、、

ここで滞在した時間がまるでクリスマスプレゼントのようだった、とのコメントが書かれていました。

いたく感銘すると同時に、その方だからと当宿が特別のおもてなしをしたわけではないことを考慮すると、

当宿では年中いつでもクリスマスプレゼントを提供していることになるのかな？

というわけで、みなさまどうぞ当宿からのクリスマスプレゼントをゲットしに、年中いつでも宿泊しにいらしてくださいね。

That night, which was a super moon, we received two images from a guest who had just checked out.

In the night view of this town recedes into the distance, the lights of our lighthouse can be clearly seen floating in a row, one above the other.

Did the guest take the trouble to take this photo from the departing ferry?

How wonderful it would be if the guest took these photos while remembering this guesthouse!

If we can think about it that way, it’s very encouraging.

Maybe this guest will become our repeat guest?

見返りゲスト、見返りゲストハウス

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

その夜スーパームーンだったあの日、チェックアウトしたばかりのゲストさんから２枚の画像が送られてきました。

遠ざかっていくこの町の夜景の中に、当宿の灯台の光がはっきり上下に並んで浮かんでいるのが映っています。

出航していくフェリーからわざわざ撮影してくれたのでしょうか？

この宿のことを思い出しながら撮ってくれてたとしたらなんてうれしいことでしょう！

そう考えたら、とっても励みになります。

きっとこのゲストさんも、リピーターさんになってくれるかな？

観測史上、最高！ / The highest in our recorded history!

The highest in our recorded history!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

At Guesthouse TOUKA, we carefully observe our guests and strive to provide the best possible hospitality.

Before our guests’ arrival, we had heard that this was an anniversary trip, so while we were thinking about how to best treat them. 

Then, when they checked in, I couldn’t help but ask, even though I knew it was a bad habit.

“We heard it’s your eighth anniversary, but after eight years together, isn’t it time to move on to the next stage?”

You are right, as I’ve written about in an article before, couples from neighboring countries often mention an anniversary as the number of years they’ve been together, but as a host born in the Showa era, I’ve always wondered if that’s not something to commemorate.

So, I couldn’t help but ask it.

The woman replied, “He’s just a child,” and then continued, 

“But actually…”

She continued with a big smile, “Actually, he proposed to me last night, on top of a mountain with a beautiful night view.”

They had seemed like a cool couple just a moment ago, but after confessing this truth, they both transformed into a happy lovely couple.

They are truly the happiest, most lovey-dovey couple we have seen since this guesthouse opened.

Is happiness really contagious? From this moment on, the happiness that was shared with us has been floating in this guesthouse.

観測史上、最高！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ゲストさんをよく見て、もっとも合う対応を模索しながらおもてなししているゲストハウス灯火です。

今回のゲストさんはいらっしゃる前に記念日の旅行だと聞いていたので、どういうおもてなしをしようか検討しているうちにチェックインの日となりました。

そしてチェックインの時、悪い癖とは分かりながら、ついつい聞いてしまいました。

「８年目の記念日だと聞いていますが、８年も付き合えばもう次のステージでは？」

そうです、過去に記事にしたこともありますが、お隣の国からいらっしゃるカップルが付き合って何年目の記念日だとおっしゃるケースが多いので、昭和生まれの宿主としては、そこは記念するところではないのでは、とずっと疑問に感じていたんです。

というわけで、ついつい口にしてしまいました。

すると女性の方から「この人は子供だから」と返答の後、、、

でも、実は、、、と続き、

「実は昨日の夜、夜景の綺麗な山の上でプロポースされたんです。」と満面の笑顔で話してくれました。

さっきまでクールなカップルという感じだったのが、その事実を告白してからは、二人とも幸せいっぱいなカップルに変身してしまいました。

まさに、当宿開業以来の史上最高のしあわせラブラブカップルです。

しあわせな感覚って本当に移るんですね？この瞬間からお裾分けされたしあわせが当宿の中を漂っています。
