Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I think that you’ve already heard again and again about the increase in inbound foreign tourists due to the weaker yen.
But I don’t think there are many people who know what these GAIJINs feel when they come to Japan, other than sightseeing spots and food.
At our guesthouse, where communication is our top priority, we learn many things from our guests.
There are some stories that Japanese people should know about but don’t have the opportunity to know because they don’t come into contact with them, so I would like to introduce some of them.
The very first topic is…
about “tour pass” issued by JR companies only for GAIJIN tourists.
It costs only 26,000 JPY for 7 days of unlimited travel on trains, including the Shinkansen, in an area that includes northern Kyushu, the Chugoku region, and parts of the Kinki region.
Isn’t this too cheap?
Even GAIJIN ticket users told us “Unbelievably Super Cheap”!
On the other hand, JR Kyushu and JR West continue to reduce the number of local trains every year due to the business conditions of each route.
I think it’s a true disrespect for customers that only temporary foreigners are benefiting, while JR users in local areas of Japan are being disadvantaged.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
円安によるインバウンドの外国人観光客の増大という話はもう耳タコ状態とは思いますが、、、
そんなガイジンさんたちが日本に来てどんなことを感じているか、観光地・食事以外について知っている人は少ないと思います。
コミュニケーションを最大の優先事項にしている当宿では、いろんなことをゲストさんから教えてもらっています。
なかには日本人が知っておくべきなのに、接することがないので知る機会もない話もあるので、その一部を紹介したいと思います。
最初の話題は、、、
ガイジン観光客向けにJR各社が発行している「周遊パス」。
北部九州と中国地方、近畿地方の一部を含むエリアを新幹線を含む電車を７日間乗り放題で26,000JPY。
これって安すぎませんか？
使っているガイジン観光客も「超安い！」って言っています。
一方でJR九州やJR西日本は路線ごとの経営状態を理由に毎年のダイヤ改正のたびに減便し続けています。
一時的に訪れている外国人にばかり恩恵がいって、国内ローカル地域のJR利用者ばかり不利益を被るのは、真の顧客軽視としか思えません。
