The Hidden Christian Church
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The next church I visited was
the church that felt the most hidden out of all the churches I visited this time.
Like the previous church, an elderly man who seemed to be a local was waiting in front of the church, and after receiving some basic instructions, I was allowed to look around the area on my own.
The brief explanation included information such as the fact that the stones used for the building were collected from nearby stones, and the reason for the structure of the entrance, and I realized that this was a completely different church from any I had seen before.
Looking back on the path up to the church, we can see the Goto Islands on the horizon, and the village itself is a very atmospheric location.
This is an essential stop if you are touring the “Hidden Christian Heritage Sites” from Nagasaki city.

ジ・潜伏キリシタンの教会
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
次に訪れた教会が
今回訪ねた教会の中で一番、潜伏色を感じる教会でした。
先の教会同様、地元の方と思われる年配の男性が教会の前で待っていてくれて、簡単な注意事項を受けて自らで教会周辺を見て回るスタイルでした。
その簡単な説明の中に、建材として使われている石が近くで取れる石を集めたものであること、入り口の構造の理由などがあって、これまでに見たことのある教会とは全く違うものだと実感しました。
教会へ登る道で振り返ると水平線の近くに五島列島も見えて、集落自体がとても雰囲気のあるロケーションでした。
長崎市街地から「潜伏キリシタン関連遺産」を巡るのなら、欠かせない場所でしょう。
