When I took a look at the map on smartphone,
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I was planning to write a more detailed article about the traditional Japanese cherry blossom viewing in my next post, but…
As I was driving through a town, I suddenly felt a sense of foreboding,
so I looked at the map of my current location displayed on my smartphone to see where I was, and just beyond my current location I found an interesting pin mark.
After driving for two minutes, I came across a building with an unusual design at the location of the pin mark.
After crossing the railroad crossing and stopping my car in front of the building, I saw a compact parking lot on the premises.
After asking the security guard for permission and parking my car, I saw a row of signs with “routes” on them.
Following the sign, I went further in and found many chairs lined up under a large tent in the square.
Going further in, I reached the inside of the strangely designed building and could see its full dimensions.
The building was built over an abandoned apartment building,
something that remained in the back of my mind.
Yes… the place was the site of the worst derailment in Japan’s history, which had been restored as a relic.
Tents and chairs seemed to be being prepared for the upcoming ceremony,
and upon reflection, it occurred to me that the tragic accident had happened exactly 20 years ago today.
The news had been pushed to the back of my mind, but I believe it is an accident that should never be forgotten.
Although it was a coincidence, I believe that there was some meaning in the fact that I was able to visit that place and pray, and I would like to make use of it in the future.

地図を見ていたら、、、
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
ザ・にっぽんのお花見について、もう少し解説する記事を次に予定していたのですが、、、
昨日、遭遇したある場所について書くことにしました。
とある街を車で流していたら、なんとなく胸騒ぎを感じたので、
ここはどこだとスマホが表示する現在地の地図を眺めると、現在地のすぐ先に気になるピンマークを見つけました。
２分も車を走らせると、そのピンマークの場所には変わったデザインの建物が建っていました。
踏切を渡り、その建物の前で車を一時停止させると、敷地の中にコンパクトな駐車場が見えました。
警備員さんに断って車を駐めると、「順路」なるかんばんが並んでいます。
そのかんばんに導かれるまま奥に進むと、広場には大きなテントの下にたくさんの椅子が並べられていました。
さらに奥に進むと、不思議なデザインの建物の内側に行きつき、その全容がわかりました。
その建物は、廃墟化したマンションを覆うように建てられていて、
そのマンションはどこか記憶の片隅に残っているものでした。
そう、、、その場所は国内史上最悪の脱線事故の現場を遺構として整備したものだったのでした。
テントや椅子はまもなく催される式典のために準備されているようで、
よくよく考えると、その悲惨な事故はちょうど２０年前の今日起こったことだとその時点で気が付きました。
そのニュースは記憶の片隅に追いやられていましたが、忘れてはいけない事故だと思います。
偶然とはいえ、その場所を訪れたことを手を合わせることができたことを、何か意味があることと考えて、これからに活かしていきたいと感じました。
