On the last day of March, a big trouble happened.
Both National Route 3, located just below,
and National Route 199, which runs parallely 200m to the sea, were experiencing huge traffic jams heading towards Mojiko.
It seems it took nearly two hours from here to the neighboring town of Mojiko.
The real cause seems to be traffic accidents,
but there are currently only two ways to travel by car between Kyushu (Kitakyushu) and Honshu (Shimonoseki), which causes frequent heavy traffic jams.
Just the Kanmon Tunnel and the Kanmon Bridge, we have now.
Coincidentally, the Kanmon Bridge is currently under construction and Mojiko Interchange(exit) is not available, so if anything were to happen, it could quickly become a major problem.
Even if a major earthquake does not occur in the Nankai Trough, if multiple accidents were to occur in these two locations…
Kyushu (and maybe Honshu?) would suddenly become an isolated island.
The deterioration of both current routes is also a major concern.
In the past, a stupid Diet member said something inappropriate about the third route, i.e. the idea of building a new bridge, which caused a negative impression to be created, but…

この町の弱点！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
３月の最終日。大変なことになりました。
すぐ下の国道３号線でも、
その海側200mで平行に走る国道199号線でも、門司港方面に向かう流れが大渋滞になっていました。
ここから隣町の門司港まで２時間近くかかったようです。
その真因は交通事故のようですが、
九州（北九州）と本州（下関）とを車で行き来するには、その手段が現在２つしかないことで頻繁に大渋滞が発生しています。
関門トンネルと関門橋だけです。
折しも、関門橋が現在工事中で門司港インターが使えないために、何か起こるとすぐにこんな大問題になってしまうのです。
南海トラフの大地震が起こらなくても、多重事故がこの二箇所で起きてしまうと、、、
途端に九州は（本州も？）離小島になってしまいます。
現両ルートの老朽化も大きな懸念事項です。
かつて頭の悪い国会議員が三つ目となるルート＝新しい橋建設の構想について余計なことを言ったことで、ネガティブなイメージを持たれてしまいましたが、、、
主観的にも、客観的にももうひとつ手段が必要なことは間違いありません。
