2 weeks+ later, most of Japanese schools will go into Summer vacation, and Tokyo Olympic Games will start at same time.
(Some games will start in advance to the opening ceremony and it is same day as vacation starts.)
We are hearing the news about many athletes from various countries are arriving at international airports in Japan.
However, we still wonder if the Olympic game will be held in this country at this timing.
The schedule of Olympic game has promoted guesthouses to be opened. So do we, TOUKA.
During the Olympic at Rio, our dream came true that we enjoy watching Olympic games on TV with our guests.

So we have expected coming Tokyo Olympic Games very very much, but it seems to be a little different now from what we have expected.
For example, Olympic torch relay has gone around this country and only Saitama and Tokyo left toward the main stadium. However we can think not so many people get excited about it.
At the time of Atlanta Olympic Games 1996, I was dispatched to the suburb of Atlanta. When the Olympic torch went through the town of my company, everybody was so excited, I remember. The day was business day for us but local staffs went out to the road where touch had passed. (It was sad that Japanese staffs stayed at office to run the business.) Every one came from the road was so excited talking about seeing the torch in their town.
We had expected such exciting moment for welcoming the torch and people from various countries. So the situation we are seeing now is very disappointing.
We may get depressed, because of less exciting Olympic, as well as the recession by COVID-19 pandemic.
Are we the only ones who feel that way?

もういくつ寝ると、、、
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
あと２週間もすると、日本は全国的に夏休みですね。それと同時に東京オリンピック。
（先行開催される競技は国内の一般的な夏休みと同日のようです。）
世界各国からの選手も続々と東京に到着しているという報道も流れています。
でも、この期に及んでですが、、、本当にオリンピックやるんですね。
東京オリンピックといえば、ここ数年、当宿のような宿泊施設の開業にも少なからず影響してきました。
前回のリオ大会では、念願だったゲストさんとのオリンピックテレビ観戦も出来て、盛り上がったのですが、、、

すごくすごく期待していたのに、この東京オリンピック、、、なんか違う気がします。
オリンピックの聖火リレーもあとは埼玉・東京を残すのみとなっていますが、それもなんか盛り上がりません。
1996年のアトランタオリンピックでは、当時アトランタ近郊に赴任していて、職場のある町を聖火が通過した時には、それはそれは盛り上がった記憶があります。当日勤務先は稼働日でしたが、シフト調整して現地スタッフを見物に行かせたほどでした（残念ながら日本人スタッフはお留守番）。見物から戻ってきた皆の顔は興奮冷めやらぬ様子でした。
そんな、心底からの盛り上がりを期待していた東京オリンピックだったのですが、、、本当に残念で仕方ありません。
コロナ感染拡大で悶々としているうえに、オリンピックで気分盛り上がらない「鬱」になりそうです。
こんな気持ち、、、自分だけでしょうか？
