Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
We will have Grand Open of Mojiko Station in this weekend.
As station building have been already open to public for four months, which was named as “partial open”, we don’t feel anything new about the building.
(It may be typical characteristic of Kitakyushu, to start business before Grand Open like Mikuni World (Soccer) Stadium.)
But what we are waiting for is the Genuine Grand Opening!
It is not only because the shop have never been opened even partially, but also because it is very first opening of Worldwide Brand Shop in this town. This can be Perry Expedition for local market.
We are not saying that we should welcome any type of worldwide brand shops. But we should accept fine/good thing from all over the world. Because the keyword of Mojiko tourism is “This port was once a busy trading port open to the world.” So we are expecting that the Grand Open of Starbucks will be the meaningful anniversary of opening Mojiko market.

P.S. By the way, we cannot understand why they set Grand Open of the station on the previous day of the Great East Japan Earthquake memorial day (3.11). Because Sunday is TAIAN ( = lucky day in Japanese calendar )?
Or because there are no one in staffs who have ever experienced volunteer work in TOHOKU ( = tsunami disaster area )?

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
この週末は門司港駅のグランドオープン。
駅舎自体は部分オープンとか なにかと理由をつけて、既に４ヶ月もの間 公開済みなので、すでにお腹いっぱいの感がありますが、、、
（ミクニ・ワールド・スタジアムといい、グランドオープン前にフライング営業するのは北九州気質なのかもしれませんが、、、統制とケジメは大切だと思います。）
今回、心待ちの「真のグランドオープン」はこちら！
部分オープンなどしていないので素直に新鮮なこともありますが、なんといっても時流に乗っている全世界チェーンの門司港初進出（グランドオープン）、ある意味、黒船出現です。
なんでもかんでも来て欲しいと言っているのではありませんが、良いものを受け入れる体質は不可欠だと思います。かつて「世界に開かれた貿易港だった」ことがウリの町ですしね。このグランドオープンが意義ある開港記念日になれば良いと思います。

P.S. それにしても駅のグランドオープン、なんで大震災の日の前日なんでしょう？ 大安だから？ スタッフに東北にボランティアとか行ったことある人がいないのかな？（さぁ これから数日、マスコミの関心も超特別になる期間です。）

There are some people whom I’ve thought of in the port town in east Japan connected with this town by the sea.
One of them was drawn in Tsunami after the earthquake.
That sea and this sea are connected,
but because we can use e-mail and social network system,
so I use old-fashioned hand-written and analog method to connect with them.
I really hope this seventh year will be LUCKY SEVEN year.
And I hope they will have happy thing in this year in east port town.
I am here in body, but not in spirit.
So I stop moving and think of the sea in the east.

その海とこの海とは繋がっていますが、
