Good timing to travel

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The 2024 Golden Week has entered its second half, and the news is reporting that various places and transportation facilities are crowded with people, helped by the perfect weather for tourists.

During this holidays, we are staying at our guesthouse with a guest who was a foreign businessman visiting this area for work, and we were talking with wonder and interest about how amazing Japanese people are.

( He seems to be taking consecutive days off in lieu of the timing.)

Tourist spots were quite busy before this holidays, but we’re sure it wasn’t as crowded as it is now.

We would like to share a scene from a time when it was perfect for traveling.

タイミング

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

2024年のゴールデンウィークも後半に突入し、行楽日和の良いお天気も手伝って、各地・各交通機関が人でごった返す様子がニュースで報道されています。

仕事で当地にいらっしゃっている外国人ビジネスマンのゲストさんと一緒に、日本人ってスゴいねとその様子を驚嘆と関心とをもって話題にしている連休中の当宿です。

（彼はタイミングをズラして振替で連休を取得するそうです。）

連休前の観光スポットもかなり賑わっていましたが、きっと今ほどではないでしょう。

そんな旅するにはちょうど良かった時の光景をシェアします。

コンビニよりも / Better than with a convenience store

Better than with a convenience store

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Among GAIJIN tourists, it seems that images of Mt. Fuji in collaboration with convenience stores have become popular.

But I honestly think this collaboration is much better.

After all the cherry blossoms in Tokyo had fallen, I went to the highlands in search of even more beautiful cherry blossoms and found this spot.

However, I realized that it was 100 times more beautiful and 1000 times more moving to see this with my own eyes than to see it in a photograph, So I felt a pity, during I took pictures.

Now, the second half of Golden Week begins today.

During their trip to Japan, I hope they don’t try to imitate someone else’s values and go to such particular spots, but find their own spots that moves them on their own.

コンビニよりも

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ガイジン観光客の間では、コンビニとのコラボ画像が人気になっている富士山ですが、、、

コラボするなら素直にこっちの方がいいんじゃないかと思います。

東京の桜が全て散ったあと、さらにきれいな桜を求めて高地に足を伸ばしてこのスポットを見つけました。

ただ、写真に撮ったものより、実際にこの目で見る方が100倍綺麗で1000倍感動するのを実際に体感し、撮影していて残念に思いました。

さぁ、本日からゴールデンウィークの後半がスタートします。

せっかくの日本旅行、他人の価値観を真似しにそのスポットに行くのではなく、自分自身で感動できるスポットを探し出してほしいですね。

ガイジン観光客にも、ゲストさんにも！

目に余る / Flagrant Manner

Flagrant Manner

Beautiful tea plantations and sacred Mt. Fuji.

This is the host’s favorite scenic spot.

However, when I tried to take a picture of tea fields with Mt. Fuji, which top was covered by snow, in the background,

Something that is not beautiful is reflected in the view.

That unbeautiful thing had been there for an hour, so I went to check on it.

And I saw gaijin tourists standing in tea fields where they were not allowed to go and taking pictures.

Indecent behavior by foreign tourists is now a big problem in Japan.

Similar disappointing behavior can be seen not only at the convenience store that made the news, but also at this tea plantation and all over Japan.

The bad manners of just a few tourists are likely to cause the image that Japanese people have of foreign tourists as a whole to become the worst ever.

It seems that foreigners who come to Japan after the yen’s depreciation are less dignified than foreigners who came before that.

As one who works in the tourism industry, I want to alert this issue at the grassroots level.

目に余る

美しい茶畑と霊峰富士。

宿主お気に入りの絶景スポットです。

ところが富士らしい雪をまとった富士を背景に渾身の一枚を撮影しようとすると、、、

目障りな何かが映り込む。
 
その何かが小一時間そこにあったので様子を見に行くと、、、

入ってはいけないエリアに、それも畑の中にまで立ちこんで撮影をしているガイジン観光客。

今、外国人観光客の品のない行為が日本で大きな問題になっています。

ニュースになったコンビニエンスストアだけでなく、この茶畑でも、日本中どこでも似たような残念な行為が見受けられます。

ほんの一部の観光客のマナー違反が、外国人観光客全体に対して日本人が抱くイメージが過去最悪になりそうです。

どうも円安になってから訪日される外国人は、それ以前の外国人と比べても、品格に劣るようです。

観光業に身を置く立場として、草の根でも警鐘を鳴らしたいと思っています。
