Women are as fickle as autumn weather!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In the weekend, it was very windy on Saturday.

But it was perfect blue sky on Sunday.

“Autumn weather are as fickle as women.”*

kitakuautumn01

and

“Autumn comes with harvest time and clear weather.”*
(*Both are Japanese proverbs.)

kitakuautumn02

Thank you and you have a nice day as harvest time for both your body and soul.

What day is Nov.1st?!

Japanese Title (邦題): 「11月1日って何の日?!」

What day is Nov.1st?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Do you know what day is Nov.1st?
Nov.11th is a famous day among Japanese people, as “the day of Pocky*”, but not so many people know about Nov.1st.
( *Japanese sweet: chocolate coated pretzel stick.)

Nov.1st is “the day of Lighthouse*”.
(*The day of very first western style lighthouse was completed in Japan. That is Kannonzaki Lighthouse, Kanagawa pref.)
And this year 2018 is the 150th anniversary of Lighthouse in Japan.

lhanniversary01

To celebrate the anniversary, Japan post office released “Anniversary post stamps of Lighthouses” last month.

Several famous lighthouses are printed on the stamp and one of them is “HESAKI Lighthouse” which I introduced yesterday. Yes, it is the lighthouse in this town.

hesaki11

lhanniversary02

But unfortunately, we cannot see it nearby on the anniversary day. Because the path to the lighthouse is under construction now.

hesaki15
( Don’t go there. I saw many cars came to see the lighthouse on the day I was visited. And they go back without seeing the lighthouse.)

According to the signboard, it will complete end of Nov.30.

This town is always like this. 150th anniversary is the day to celebrate the lighthouse but no one can approach it on the day. Each section of local government works individually, no communication/corporation. Such a lovely local governments they are.

Thank you and you have a good life, without missing your key day of your life.

The Place I went in my childhood

The Place I went in my childhood

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

When I visit place where I went in in my childhood after I grown up, I could feel something strange.

Specially for the person like me, who came back to the hometown after living big city like Tokyo for many years, visiting such place can be more exciting than visiting somewhere new and I never seen before. (That feeling may be similar to that when I attend school alma meter party.)

This time, I visited to the northern most place.

Used to be local bus has run to the nearest village to the place. But there is no longer bus route existing.
Name of the village is “AO-HAMA (means Blue Shore)”. It sounds fantastic, doesn’t it?

aohama01

The place further than “AO-HAMA” is “The HESAKI Lighthouse*”.
(*Please search it to know the reason/history of the lighthouse.)

hesaki13

hesaki12

It is the very important lighthouse, as the leader of lighthouses locates along Kanmon straits, like TOUKA’s lighthouse.

hesaki14

My memory about the HESAKI Lighthouse was that the lighthouse is locating very far from my house even locates in same ward. We needed to ride train, bus and we have to walk pretty long distance from the last bus stop. Because of that, I memorized that my packed lunch tasted very very delicious, when I ate it with my friends next to the lighthouse. I remembered the momory, when I saw the lighthouse this time.

It is sometimes good for me to make myself to connect to a reminder of past events in the deep part of my brain.

Thank you and you have a nice day, with having adequate level of stimulus.
